July 14, 200818 yr NEW YORK (CBS/Politico) -- Barack Obama's campaign is condemning as "tasteless and offensive" a New Yorker magazine cover that depicts Obama in a turban, fist-bumping his gun-slinging wife. An American flag burns in their fireplace. The New Yorker says it's satire. It certainly will be candy for cable news. http://www.knx1070.com/Obama--New-Yorker-Cover--Tasteless-and-Offensive-/2593276
July 14, 200818 yr Heard a blurb on the radio that it was more a slam at the people trashing Obama and his wife. I tend to agree with Obama's campaign.
July 14, 200818 yr He'd better grow some think skin quickly, it's going to get worse. Welcome to running for president.
July 14, 200818 yr It's obviously supposed to be satire, but that's not how it plays... coming to a conservative poster's avatar near you for sure.
July 14, 200818 yr It is tasteless and offensive, but it is somewhat entertaining when you think of the people who refuse to believe that Obama is actually an american and a christian. BTW - RTS, are you offended by the machine gun over Mrs. Obama's shoulder? I know you consider him to be anti-gun.

No, I find the fact that Obama tries now to paint himself as pro-gun offensive though. That's part of what's kind of funny about the picture.

July 14, 200818 yr No, I find the fact that Obama tries now to paint himself as pro-gun offensive though. That's part of what's kind of funny about the picture. RTS, if there is one thing that I feel good about, it's that if Obama gets elected, I don't think you have to worry about it. I am not saying that he might not support minor changes to gun laws, but having been reading his books, I do think he supports the right of people of legal age, of good mental health and not having committed felonies, to own guns. Now, I could be wrong, but I honestly feel that way. (By the way, if I am wrong, please don't :flame: me! )
July 14, 200818 yr Ya think? Where is UKMustangFan? His avatar is getting old, it's time for an update! (J/K UK!)

He been quoted as being in favor of banning all semi-autos, supporting bring back the Clinton Ban and a slew of other ridiculous measures. On top of that, one has to worry about who he would put in the SC and how they would vote. Remember, 4 justices voted in favor of the DC Gun Ban.
July 14, 200818 yr  I was actually thinking about it...If you don't like that one, you can always feel free to use this one.
