Haven't seen much that's been constructive.

I just have a feeling had this move gone to Northern Ky and he enrolled at Holmes, you'd be whistling a much different tune.

Consider that statement a moot point. Would never happen.

So...

  • We are not talking about all the other kids.
  • I have yet to make one negative comment toward any child on BGP.
  • I did not say "he works harder than any other kid in the state."
  • If I can't complement one kid without complementing all the kids, how can you hammer one kid without... nevermind, you can't see it?

  • Why pick on the kid, when it sounds like your problem is with the parents?
  • If you have solid information, it sounds to me like you need to speak with the KHSAA, not air your differences here.

I believe you did say this sir:

"If more kids had the focus and work ethic this kid does, we'd be a much greater country than we are today.""

Also I haven't picked on the kid himself, but rather gave my OBSERVATION of his game. Isn't this a public forum to discuss anything as long as you stay in line with BGP rules? Last time I checked the answer was yes.

If this kid wasn't a UK recruit would some still feel the same way they did? I think not. A lot sure were objective to Sanford transferring to Lexcath last year.

I did, and I stand by that statement. I wasn't referring to you, your child or any kid you know that is in the gym at 6:30 am shooting, lifting weights, and jumping rope before school, and then in the gym again after school working to develop strength, speed and skills totally apart from mandatory team workouts.

My hat's off to anyone working half that hard. I am referring to the many kids more concerned with hanging out at the mall, or spending hours in darkened rooms plugged into Halo 3 or Guitar Hero scarfing up cheese doodles, or hanging out with their buds on skateboards and their jeans hanging off their butts. I'm not saying that makes them bad kids, just that times have changed and there are too few kids/adults who understand the rewards of hard work and discipline. We have too many people who prefer to point out how things aren't fair if they don't get handed what they think they're entitled to simply because they exist.

I realize this view makes me terribly old fashioned, politically incorrect and anti-socialist.

I'm good with that. :thumb:

I still haven't named an individual child, and pointed out his/her shortcomings.

You are free to say anything you want, but I contend that if anyone said the exact same things you have said about Euton, about you or your kid on a public internet forum, you wouldn't like it.

I agree 100%, but from the opposite direction.

The consensus of opinion is that if Clay Euton had gone about things exactly as he did, but simply said nothing to the newspaper, Dakotah would/should be eligible today. Had Euton not been a high profile athlete, his dad's comments wouldn't have been printed or mattered to anyone. So, the fact that he is a high profile UK recruit is precisely the reason he has been ruled ineligible. That's not right or fair by any reasonable standard.

You got to be kidding me, the Euton kid has light years to go before he will dominate a game against an athletic, quick 6'6" post player. Foot speed, side-to-side movement just aren't there for him and may never be there. Granted, if you give him an inch from the 3pt line, he will make you pay. But, worrying about him driving by his defensive man, won't happen. Jackson is a different story. Has all the tools, but he needs to put the time and effort to become the player he could be. To date he has not shown that temperment.

Well said. :thumb:

tem·per·a·ment [/u]noun 1. the combination of mental, physical, and emotional traits of a person; natural predisposition.

2. unusual personal attitude or nature as manifested by peculiarities of feeling, temper, action, etc., often with a disinclination to submit to conventional rules or restraints.

IMO, Jackson's temperament is fine. They don't call him smooth for nothing. Doesn't get rattled or shall I say, he doesn't let you see him get rattled. Every kid has their own unique personality. Why should he change who he is? Maybe you are trying to say something different. Care to elaborate?

Things right come very easy for Chad ; so much so he has a tendecy to be lazy and not push his self. This country is full of 6'4" athletic players and those who seperate themselves from the rest are the ones who push and demand more of themselves in every situation; be it basketball or life.

Just a question, how tall is Euton? Not how tall is he listed. I've seen Dakotah stand next to Phares and Euton is a good inch shorter than him.

Usually ranked top 3 or better in the state. Don't think any school in the state would turn him away. I would say he has separated himself very well. Good student also.

I'd say he is 6'6.

For his class, yep sure do!

Rule 13

for his class, yep sure do!

And who would you have ahead of him?

For his class, yep sure do!

Here is a list of the top players in the c/o 2010:

Pittman (6'6 G Holmes)

R. Johnson (6'5 G Holmes)

Zollo (6'8 C GRC)

Euton (6'6 F SC)

Guyn (6'2 G SC)

Cosby (6'2 G J'Town)

Wilson (6'5 F Christian Co)

Sewell (6'5 G Trinity)

Watts (G Mccreary Central)

There's a list of 10 players who are as good as if not better than Jackson. Too much talent in the state of KY for any in this class to really stand out above any of the others.
