I like reading the arguments. I frankly don't know, or follow P&R enough to have educated discussion.

I have been a long time reader of BGP and just joined not too long ago. I enjoy reading the P&R forum. There are several posters that I always look to see what they have to add or spark in this forum.

I agree with MrsPH I know the difference between right and wrong and have my own strong opinions. This is the first year I've posted at all in this forum mostly because the sports forums are so slow. Like has been said you can tell most times by the tilte of the thread who started without even looking. Also the intelligence of some posters on hear can be a little intimidating. I think one of my first posts on here I said Bush had lied to us to get us into Iraq, and that he and Cheney are making money from it. So the first response to my post was, so you're accussing the president of lieing and war profiteering, where's your proof. As MrsPH said that's what I believe, and I don't think there's anything anybody could post on here to change my mind.

Recently, I've been seeing several new posters here in P/R. I think it's great.

 

Pigman, like you, I joined the site for the sports. I know that you and I have debated a little football from time to time and I really enjoy that! I, too, stumbled in P/R when the football and basketball talk slowed down.

 

I have to say that being here has made me want to become more knowledgeble on a variety of political topics. I enjoy the links that various posters provide. I especially enjoy it when a poster presents a view that I had not considered on a topic that I had already set my mind on. This forum helps keep me fresh and on my toes. I hope that more posters will continue to come in and present their ideas in the forum, or at least enjoy the debates and information presented already.

TB&G I think you are one of the more open minded people on this site and enjoy alot of your posts. Like you've stated other view points can make you think and often do. Can't wait for football season.

Thank you, pigman. I try to be open-minded, but sometimes fail in that regard. It's something I work on. I, too, can't wait for football season...but I will have to divide my BGP time with P/R, too, as what better time then election time to be here!

To be honest, you could easily formulate the argument of "what worse time then election time to be here!" :lol:

 

Actually, the more I think about it, this board, while not as energetic and fast-paced, was better during non-election periods IMO. We had a lot more religious debate and political debates were more issue-focused discussions.

 

Hopefully, people don't judge P&R for what's been going on lately, and check us out during the boring times.
