June 3, 200818 yr On a side note, just got finished watching BBTN and Julio Franco said that if he could have a baseball player that he'd want atop his team he said Chipper Jones..:dancingpa
June 3, 200818 yr Nice to see we can win at home still... Especially a 1-run game... Except it was a two run homer....
June 3, 200818 yr Except it was a two run homer.... Well I really meant to say we didn't lose a 1-run game. That's what I meant..
June 4, 200818 yr Braves down 4-3 going into the bottom of the 8th. Chipper Jones singles, Mark Teixeira doubles, and Greg Norton doubles. Braves lead 5-4 with a runner on 2nd and no out.
June 4, 200818 yr Braves come back again. Trailing in anotehr 1-run game they win this one by 1 run. 5-4. Chipper Jones hit a 3-run homerun in the 1st. Went 2-4 on the night.
June 4, 200818 yr Braves leading the Marlins 4-2 in the bottom of the 8th. Would be good for the Braves to get a sweep of the Marlins. Hopefully the Reds can beat the Phillies today too.
June 4, 200818 yr I think the Braves will be fine if they can solve the closer issue. I also think they will be active on the trade market again to find another starter.
June 4, 200818 yr IMO the Braves will land either: Joe Blanton, Bronson Arroyo, Daniel Cabrera, Rich Harden.
June 4, 200818 yr Both Blanton and Arroyo are signed long term so they will have to give up a lot to land either one. I wouldn't be surprised to see Greg Maddux back in Atlanta.
June 4, 200818 yr Both Blanton and Arroyo are signed long term so they will have to give up a lot to land either one. I wouldn't be surprised to see Greg Maddux back in Atlanta. Maddux has a no trade clause, and wants to stay on the West coast to be closer to his home, reason why he signed with San Diego in the first place. Braves need to get a younger pitcher, and one they can control for multiple years.
