Tough choice on that last spot between those last 5. Melo or Pierce probably get the nod, but its hard leave Redd's great shooting off the team. Any of those guys could make it over Johnson, but I like his game for the international competition.

I think that's why he shut it down in the playoffs. I don't see why he wouldn't play in the playoffs but would decide to play in the international games?
May 22, 200818 yr If they dont put a couple of SHOOTERS on it, they wont win gold. International officials allow a lot of bumping and banging down low. Our bigs wont dominate. Also shooters will open up the zone defense that many will play against the US.

May 22, 200818 yr I would be ok with any of them except Adam Morrison and Luke Ridnour. I wouldn't have JJ Redick either. If you can't play for your NBA team you shouldn't be trying out for the USA team. I would replace Morrison, Ridnour, and Redick with Derrick Rose, Brandon Roy, and if you want a shooter you could go with Kyle Korver over Redick.

I think if they were to replace anyone they would start by adding KG. While I like Roy's game, I think that it is too similar to that of many of the guys already on the roster. I like the Korver idea, but if you are going to start talking Derrick Rose, you know you have to start talking Beasley, who wouldn't be a bad addition with his ability to play outside or in at 6'10''...

I did not realize Kevin Garnett wasn't on the list. You can add Collison to the list of guys needing to go as well. I do definitly think Roy, Rose, Beasley, and Korver are huge up grades over Ridnour, Morrison, Collison, and Redick.
