May 20, 200818 yr Author Last season when the Twins had a guy going into the 9th with a no-hitter or something, you dogged me for posting a thread updating the status of it.:lol: That's because I wanted the guy from the Twins to get the no hitter.
May 20, 200818 yr Understatement of the year......That was a well pitched game by Jon Lester. Congrats to him. I have to say that When they switched over to the 9th on espn I thought that he was going to lose the no no when he walked the first batter, he looked so tight out there. I am a Yankee fan but since the BoSox were up 7-0and the outcome was pretty well decided I am glad that he got the no hitter.

May 20, 200818 yr Chowder heads, remember this. AWESOME!!! He gets a free pass because I love a great story more than I loathe the Red Sox... :thumb: My feelings as well. Do you think that this will draw more Red Sox bandwagon fans to their mix?
May 20, 200818 yr Sinner... Nope, check out my post above ^ , had I thought that there was even a prayer for the Sox to lose that game I would have been sitting here putting a hex on them. This was my one inning to pull for them this season. Don't expect it again. With that all being said, I am on my way to confession as we speak (just in case).

May 20, 200818 yr What makes it so much better is that a Yankee fan started the thread trying to jinx him, and failed miserably just like the Yankees have in recent years.

Oh, you mean just like the Red Sox had failed for a couple of hundred years or so :sssh: untill just a short while ago? They have looooooong way to go to catch up and don't think that any of us will be alive when and IF they ever make it.

But the Red Sox haven't went out and bought every player on the market and choked.

Honestly, do you drive these wagons or what? Another 240 years and the Red Sox will get to 26... You guys need to realize any hex the Yankees had on the Red Sox has been put to rest 4 years ago. You can go on and talk about your 26 all you want, you probably need to go dust them off, they've been sitting there for almost 8 years now without being touched. We'll take our 2 Titles in 4 years and our 3-0 comeback and be perfectly happy. Congrats to Jon Lester, great kid and a great story! Something that may go unnoticed in this is that tonight was the 4th no-hitter that Jason Varitek has caught. That either tied or broke a major league record.
May 20, 200818 yr That was a record for Varitek. He's now caught 4 no-hitters: Nomo, Lowe, Buchholz and Lester. I love Lester's makeup. His 130th and final pitch of the night was his fastest of the night at 96 mph. I guess after beating cancer Major League hitters don't seem so scary.
May 20, 200818 yr I'm not a fan of the Red Sox, but you can't beat that atmosphere at Fenway during the playoffs or during a scene like tonight. Just amazing to watch.

Better known as an excuse for inferiority... Yes the Red Sox have had everyone's number the last few years, that's no secret. The real question is how many of the "fans" of the Red Sox now, were fans in the 80's and 90's? That's what I can't stand...
May 20, 200818 yr Better known as an excuse for inferiority... Yes the Red Sox have had everyone's number the last few years, that's no secret. The real question is how many of the "fans" of the Red Sox now, were fans in the 80's and 90's? That's what I can't stand... I was and that's all I can vouch for. Every team has bandwagon fans, I saw a lot of people wearing Yankees caps from 96-2000 that hadn't before that too. It just hurts a little bit more when it is your arch rival that has gotten good enough to draw those fans, doesn't it? As for hexes, if they're just an excuse for inferiority why did that buffoon Hank spend all that money to break up the concrete to dig up the Sox jersey at the new park. After all Pride and Pinstripes wouldn't be afraid of a silly hex like that, would they? :sssh:
