I don't think that there's a chance in HECK that we'll see the day that all 50 states allow this. Nor, do I hope it happens. Legal Unions? Tax breaks, etc? Yes. MARRIAGE? NO.

Ellen IS funny. Seems like a nice woman, too. You could tell she was genuinely excited to be able to do this. Everyone, regardless of orientation, should be able to marry the one they love. I think we will see the day when people in every state will be able to do so.

 

I imagine that she was excited, that doesn't make it right nor does it make it right bc some supreme court judge (in California:rolleyes:) said so. That makes it legal, not right. Ellen and many, many ones like her from both sexes will have to answer for it one day. Certainly not bc I said it but rather bc God said it was wrong. That may be your opinion, but neither you or I can prove whether or not God is real. So you can not pretend like you know that God is not real.

 

I do agree that it will not hut anyone if a gay couple gets married. I believe in God, but I have no problem what so ever with gay marriage.

I am opposed to legalized gay marriage and I am not a big fan of TV talk shows in general. That being said, I commend Ellen for not making her sexual orientation the focus of her show. In my unqualified opinion, Ellen is the best of the daytime talk show hosts.

I just finished my fourth year at EKU. I will graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice this December. If all things go as planned, I'll graduate Cum Laude. But I have to at least get a 3.5 this coming semester to do that, and I'm taking some fairly difficult classes, so we'll see.

I am not "forcing" my views or lifestyle on anyone, plainly stating them as you are. I can't help if you have a problem with that. I also have the assurance of knowing that on this subject my views are absolute fact. You don't need any explanations from me or have to believe me, pick up the bible and it is all right there in front of you and anyone else, should you not believe in the Bible the I can only feel sorry for you and hope that that changes one day for your sake. Should someone not want to accept those truths od the Bible and God's word then it is not for me to judge. As for the last sentence, that still doesn't make it right.

Just wondering, how do you "know" that he is right, you may believe that he is but you do not know. I am not condemming either one of you, that is not for me to judge as the same is true for you on condemming me so your words do not bother me at all.

For the record, marriage should be a religious institution, and the government should recognize all unions equally.

 

That way, if DeGeneres' marriage is offensive to you, all you and your religion have to do is ignore it and it has no effect on you, and all DeGeneres has to do is join a faith that allows same-sex marriage. It shouldn't enter into the law, if it's a belief issue.
