My parents were Democrats and we always voted Democrats.

My grandparents were Democrats and we always voted Democrats.

My great grandparents were Democrats and we always voted Democrats.

I was a senior at a liberal arts college.

 

Now, that I have gain wisdom, I vote differently.

 

I have been told by my parents that my ancestors would roll over in their graves if they knew how I voted.

 

Maybe they are rolling over because of the direction the Democratic Party has taken in the last 30-40 years.

This is going to sound mean and I don't mean it to so I apologize ahead of time. If you want to vote for who's more beatable just change parties. If you can't support a Dem in the state and national levels then you aren't a Democrat IMO. At the local level it doesn't matter one iota. You're just playing into the hands of people like Drugg-o Limbaugh and you need to realize that. Either abstain or switch parties b/c you're not helping those of us who actually want to see a winner that will win the general election. You're a one issue voter and the Democratic party is not a one-issue party.

 

I hope it's over by the time it gets to KY but if it isn't I wouldn't vote if I were in your shoes.

 

I apologize for being harsh but I don't see a point in trying to bring down something you claim to be a part of.

Shoot there is a part of me that is considering switching registrations so I can vote for Hillary when she comes to Kentucky. Obama's liberal bent and total "feel good" speeches scare the crap out of me.

I thought the Dems were the ones that suppposedly revered individuality and independent thinking. It sure sounds to me like at least one of their members want everyone to walk in lockstep.

I don't want everyone to walk in lockstep, but I think it's wrong to vote for someone b/c you want them to lose. I would say the same thing to a Republican who was voting for who they wanted to lose. If you're a member of the party and support it in local elections and state elections but don't like their Presidential candidate I just think it's better to not vote in the primary. Vote against them in the general election if you want. The point of the primary is for voters to chose a candidate that they want to see win, not lose.

Gotcha. My family is the same way. I kid you not, when I was young my church was so constructed that you go inside by going up one of two flights of steps,one flight to the left and one to the right. My grandfather, who was the church custodian, said that one flight was for Republicans and the other was just for Democrats. I NEVER, EVER dared to go up the Republican flight. It would have blasphemous from my little kid point of view to have ascended those Republican steps...Crazy but true.

The point of a vote, any vote, is for every American to make a choice based on what they believe is better for the country (or city or state as the case may be). I believe that the US will be better off with McCain as president then either of the Taxing Duo. I think Hillary is less likely to get any cross over support from Republicans and I also feel like there are so many Hussein, err Obama supporters, that have put so much emotionally into this primary that they will not vote for Hillary if somehow she gets the nomination. I wonder if Obama is going to have any of the Weather Underground on his cabinet, of if Rev. Wright will lead the invoation at his inaguration? Therefore I will cast my constitutionally protected ballot in the primary for the Democrat that I think has the best chance of losing in November and will do so with no feeling of guilt whatsoever. It's also been a whole lot of fun watching the Clinton attack machine tear into one of their own so I want that to go on for as long as possible.
