Hopson Scores 21 in Jordan Game

Featured Replies

I wish BCG could have landed him, he would be a major contributor next year.

He even made a top 10 list on Sportscenter with a dunk!

If Hopson would play the way he does in all star games all the time, I think we may have seen a different state champion crowned this year.

I wish he was at UK!

At least a different Mr. Basketball.

I think we all do, but I also think that Tennessee is a better fit for Hopson because of their style of play. Hopefully Billy G can put UK back at the top pretty soon.

I doubt that. UHA was not a great team.

Although I would have loved to seen him in the KY BLUE; IMO I don't think he would have lasted under BCG.

IMO - he's good in all star games because no one else plays solid defense either. Lots of highlights with blocked shots and steals, but to win games, you have to care enough to be in the right defensive position and hustle up and down the floor. Until he learns to bend his knees, grit his teeth and guard someone - he'll score a lot of points, but winning games won't happen.

Very good post! He has got to learn to give effort or he won't play that much. His talent is undeniable though.

I saw Hopson play as a junior and really saw how people talked about his additude. He was in a rage about his teammate taking an open shot! I mean visibly displeased. Really cant defend the young man about the lack of all out effort but has anybody noticed that he turns it on against better talent/comp? Heard he lit up the GA school in the KOB and nationally he's played well. Maybe the college game will challenge him more then KY high school basketball did. Talent wise he was head and shoulders above everybody except maybe Miller(never seen him in person). Wish he'd went to U of L.

You would think he would play hard on the big stage like the Sweet16 though. He didn't play hard when is very talented team was getting beat. As for how well he plays in the summer, in AAU ball there just isn't very good defense being played. Teams play 3 or 4 games a day and its mostly a lot of 1 on 1, which is right up his ally.

Even so, you know the kids from Catholic were playing him hard, and when he wanted to get by them, he did.

It isn't great D being played in this games, but it isnt just nothing being done either. I'm not kidding when I say the kid played harder in the Hoops Summit and wouldnt be surprised if he did it here as well.

I agree, but he should of scored 30 against them though had he played hard, went to the boards, etc. I still think he has a long way to go, but potential is obvious.
