Kentucky Indiana All Star Game

Featured Replies

It looks like they invited around 20 guards; is he that good?

Yea Mcgraw is that good. The only reason he doesn't have any D1 offers is because of his back. He had to sit out his junior year it was so bad. This year he missed a few games because of it as well.

Any guard who can drop 34 with Arrez Henderson on him the whole night, I'd say is pretty good. Corey Sorrell (Holy Cross) who got an invite only scored 6 against Henderson and Slone only had 11.

Darius Miller

Scotty Hopson

Adam Delph

Ryan Young

There is no way Ryan Young makes that team

I wouldn't say there's no way. Anyone who got an invite is a pretty good player. He has just as good a shot as anyone else. You never know who's gonna get hot and have a stretch of a few good days at these try-outs.

Watch out for Mr. Mack he may take home the MVP! He is the most underrated player in the State of Kentucky! May in the nation!

I don't see how you can say he's underrated considering he was a top 3 MR. Basketball candidate.

If I had to pick a starting 5:

Tyshawn Edmondson

Shelvin Mack

Arrez Henderson

Darius Miller

Scotty Hopson

Second 5:

Nick Gagel

Landon Slone

Cory Sorrell

Brock Moorman

Victor Moses

Gagel, Slone, and Sorrell can light it up outside. Moorman and Moses down low would be a tough tandem to handle.

Hopson

Miller

Mack

Slone

Henderson would be my 5.

I'd take Edmondson over Slone. Edmondson is more explosive with the rock and brings more athleticism to the table than Slone.

I'm sure a lot of people would agree with you, but they played point for point in their head to head matchup in the All A. (Neither one could guard the other) Both are solid players and I wouldn't mind having both on my team.

I think Tyler Brown from Apollo was more impressive than Edmondson or Sloan during the tryouts.

Man, so glad to see someone give Tyler Brown his due. He is the one of the most slept on players in the state. He's this years Preston Knowles. He had 20 points in the KABC All-star game but nobody really talked about it. There were some good players in that game too! A lot of people talk about Hopson and Edmondson but I saw Brown drop 25(20 in the 2nd half) in an Apollo victory their jr. year. And he caught a ridiculous tip dunk in traffic on UHA's 6'10 ctr. Langhi. Had many 20 pt. games against a good defensive Owensboro team.(held Madisonvilles Hood 2 12 pts) Dropped like 35 on Henry Clay this year.(without Boyd and Moses but hey)Not playin AAU ball really hurt his exposure going to his sr. year but Morehead's smilin about it. I thank he's the best player in the state not named Miller or Hopson! Hope he makes the KY All-stars so the state can see his game.

I know I will have my opinion shredded here on a mountain messageboard, but if Slone is at the point for any extended period this game will be uglier than many predict anyways. Slone is not a legit point at this level of play. I watched Henderson play his soph, junior, last year on the AAU circuit, and I don't see him being an effective distributor and ballhandler to run the show agains Indy either. He's more of a finisher than anything.

Where is Edmonson going to college at?

Did anybody hear how the players from the moutains did at the tryouts? Does any of them have a shot to make the team besides Sloan?

My five again:

PG- Henderson

G- Mack

G- Slone

F- Hopson

F- Miller

Put those five on the floor at the same time and Kentucky will be hard to handle.::D I know that some of these kids would be playing out of position, but they would all be able to take you off the dribble.
