Here's a key fishing tip for all - once these things get going hot and heavy and are buzzing all over the place. Just find anything you have in your tackle box or local Wal Mart that buzzes on top of the water. If you do that and nothing else, you'll have the most successful season you've had in a long while on the water.:thumb:

Key fishing tip #2 - catch a jar full of these things and head to the fishing hole. Hook them gently when they're still ALIVE and you'll catch as many fish as there are in the water that day.

I was just a freshman in high school or so the last time these critters showed up and I still remember the fishing that summer.

So it was the last outbreak of these things, must have been '04, and I'm on a riding mower cutting my parents pretty big front yard. Well I got on a hat and sunglasses because I know that if these things startle me while I'm driving the yard isn't going to be real even. So I'm putting the finishing touches on this yard and have managed to escape the suckers, until all of a sudden it was coming at me. Must have been about 5 feet in front of me when I noticed it staring me strait in the face flying at me, without thinking my whole body jerked to the right... Including my hands that were on the wheel... Right about this time my moms garden was directly to my right. That little swerve cost about 1/3 of the garden... Mom wasn't happy...

 

Yeah, they bother me, I'll admit it...
