Hunter Cantwell

Featured Replies

Cantwell will certainly be a drop off from Brohm and they lose many studs for him to throw to. That is the main reason why I don't think he will be "all that" this year.

Douglas and Barnidge are the only two big losses. They have plenty of recievers and running backs. Offense won't be the problem.

I watched all the QB's throw last year for a long time and if I didn't know who they were, I would have thought Hunter was the top QB. However, that is just throwing and we all know that is just a small part of being a good QB.

Douglas is a huge loss, probably as big if not bigger than Brohm. Cantwell is a decent replacement for Brohm but replacing Douglas is not going to be easy. 6-6, maybe 7-5 this season.

It might be helpful to have several players moderately step up their game, rather than looking for the next guy who Louisville will throw to 12 times a game. If you follow my line of thinking.

That, coupled with a solid running, would be the best fit.

Which is good, since that appears to be what is brewing.

Running back ain't a problem. Powell will have a HUGE year. Bolen is money on short yardage. Vic Anderson has been having a big spring. Throw in George Stripling and Dale Martin.

I can't speak for others but I don't see that in my case. It's not like I expect him to be better than Brohm, but he has proven himself to be a winner multiple times as a starter, he had a year to adjust to Krag last year and from everything I've heard has has a better cannon than Brohm. I don't expect him to have a better game IQ than Brohm but he has everything going for him as a first year starter.

Thats pretty much spot on. Cantwell has 20 or more yards arm strength on Brian, but Brian has what's going on in his head and accuracy. As a Cat fan, Cantwell makes me nervous, but our defense will be tougher than what he practices against. Kiper puts him in his top 5 QB's, even saying Saturday that he may get drafted higher than brian next year, FWIW. That's pretty strong for a guy with only 4 starts under his belt.

^ It's not twenty yards. He has some more velocity, some extra revolutions on the ball, and about 5-7 yards on the deep ball. Hunter's only question marks are his zone reads, and touch. I think those will be answered.

I think Hunter can lead the Cards to 7 or 8 wins with an improved defense.
