Scott 11 Highlands 0

Featured Replies

No dominating pitching for the Birds today. Great performance by Scott pitcher Jordan Adkins who held the Birds to only 2 hits.

Ouch!!!!!!!!!!

Towles outing was very short as the Scott batters worked him into deep counts and then got some timely hitting.

Some stats:

Bianchi 3-3, 2B, 1 RBI, 1 run

Adams 1-1, 2B, 2 RBIs, 2 BB, 3 runs

Murray 1-3 2B, 1 run

Sowder 1-2, BB, 1 run

In addition the left fielder for Scott, Taylor Smith, made a great diving catch in the last inning.

Today was great weather for baseball

Thats 12 straight Scoreless innings for Adkins.

I was very impressed with Atkins today. He is not a very big kid but has a nice curve and fast ball...This years HHS team is going to struggle at the plate. They take way to many pitches and strike out an awful lot...If the bats don't come around it is going to be a long year in Ft. Thomas...:scared::scared:

Very suprised that Highlands was held scoreless, but not so suprised that Scott scored 11 on Towles.

They didn't score 11 on Towles...I think 4 or 5 and they took him out???

My mistake, but you get the point.

I must say in the birds defense, in the third two runs were scored on a foul ball that was called fair. Thats about the time they took Towles out.

Well I think you are a little mistaken there but just a small mistake in your wording. The play you speak of there was a runner on first base and EJ Murray hit a ball down the left field line and it hit the fence on the left side of the foul pole. This should've been a foul ball but for some reason the umpire called it fair and the play stood as called. Adams came up next and ripped a ball down the left field line that hit the fence and was clearly fair that drove in 2 runs.

Towles is a great pitcher but IDK if they go deep in pitching after that. They have great sticks too. If they develop more pitching this is a tough team.

Wow...pretty good "beat-down" for the Birds! (I reckon' it's payback for FB season!)

Definitely a different Highlands club this year from last.

I have yet to see any team win a baseball game with 0 runs. Congrats to the Eagles for their victory. Towles shouldnt worry about one bad outing, he is throwin upper 80's cheese and has the Bunning genes and that will get him drafted at some point.
