Until LCA or any other Class A team starts racking up championships then the road to the 1A title always runs thru BEECHWOOD.

Campbellsville returns 20 of 22 starters. Must replace Shumari Bridgewater but there is a line of running backs waiting for their shot to pack the mail. The most important part ( Offensive Line and Defensive Line ) returns all starters from last year.

 

I believe Campbellsville opens up with Lexington Christian in their bowl game this year.

Simply amazing how such a small school puts out such a good team year after year. The athletes that come from the small community they draw from is unreal.:confused:

I am aware of the tradition of the Beechwood Tigers, but the thread was about RETURNERS for '08.(aka the UPCOMING season.)

 

I think, IMO, and MO only, and before you get all wild and offended again, that LCA returns the most talent THIS YEAR, thus the road to the title (before I'm taken out of context again, I am speaking of THIS(2008) season, just as the thread states) statement. The talent and numbers are there. Most seasons Beechwood has to be the favorite, and deservedly so, in single A football. I just think not this year and pre-season.

In all honesty, I think Beechwood is still the favorite, LCA returns a lot as does Raceland and Hazard. I expect Mayfield and Frankfort to be in the hunt. I really think this is going to be a good competitive playoff year.

 

I think Beechwood will be in the championship game, versus the winner of the LCA/Raceland/Hazard games.

Williamsburg returns 18 starters, which include QB and top 4 receivers.

 

Did any of these start both ways? If not this is a great number returning for a small school like W'burg.

Sorry kids but after watching last years State Finals, would have to strongly agree that LCA should be preseason #1. Beechwood has fine tradition and finds a way to be there in the end BUT.........if LCA doesn't end up with penalties and with they have returning personnel-wise AND the very sophisticated offense schemes that are as well executed as last year, the will be a favorite to win. As mentioned other teams have plenty of returning players, not sure they can match the quality of LCA returning player that fell just short last season.
