Lincoln's Jeff Jackson Thinking about Boyle?

Featured Replies

Boyle County athletic director has stated that Jeff Jackson, head coach of two-time defending regional champion Lincoln County, has not applied for the vacant Boyle County job.

Spears says that Boyle would not pursue the current coaches of Lincoln, Danville or Garrard County because they are district rivals. Spears considers it "unethical."

The question is, would Jackson considered moving over to Boyle? Lincoln looks like the better job now, but might the grass be greener at Boyle? Is this not the exact same thing that happened with Larry French?

Well, Boyle and Lincoln aren't district rivals in football, so it isn't quite the same thing.

On the other hand, I don't see why it would be "unethical" to talk to a coach at a district rival about your job opening, especially if he's a viable candidate for the position.

To me, the "unethical" comment made it seem like he was asking Jackson to apply so he didn't have to call him!

That may be true ... I was thinking the same thing.

Why would Jackson even think about leaving Lincoln Co? I mean Boyle Co. has gone through 3 Head Coaches in a years time. I mean I could be way wrong about this but why would he go to a school where the natives are restless as opposed to staying at a school that is glad to have him on their staff?

$, maybe?

This is interesting. It would be very awkward for Jackson to play Lincoln County, especially at Lincoln County. Boyle should be a pretty good team next season and possibly contend for a title.

$, maybe?

I agree that money talks, but you have to look at what you have to deal with. The senseless parents, an unfaithfull administration that doesn't support your decisions and let the parents take over...need I say more?

The article and the title of this thread totally contradict each other. It is stupid IMO.

Jackson is not thinking about BC, and in no way has he shown that he is thinking about going there. Coach Jackson would not go to BC and have to deal with the parents etc. Plus the money isn't a factor. Why else do you think he came to LC? It wasn't for the money.

This thread is a cheap shot at Coach Jackson and Lincoln County, and is total speculation at this time.

Relax. I simply posted the article from the Advocate. Everyone simply speculated as to why Jackson MIGHT leave Lincoln County. These same sentiments were expressed about Larry French.

Actually, nothing about French was mentioned until he publicly announced his intentions to pursue the job. I just think it is misdirected to start a thread entitled "Lincoln's Jeff Jackson thinking about Boyle." I am glad to see BC has changed their policies, now that they have a football coach. I know they contacted French, why would they change their procedures now?

Please show me where he, or anyone from Lincoln County mentioned this to be true. I don't care what Larry Vaught, and those people at the Danville paper say. They are D list journalist with an agenda.

Maybe it is Tubby Smith. Former UK coaches like Boyle County.;)

LCPATS.... Don't fool yourself on Jackson not at least thinking about Boyle. I know for a FACT that within the last 2 1/2 years Jackson has asked someone REALLY close to the Boyle program about that job if Coach Bottoms was to leave. I do know that for a fact.

Do I think Jackson will leave Lincoln? No. Actually I think they are going to give it to Springate regardless if Jackson wants it or not and I think Coach Jackson knows that.

I know you think I am trying to bash Jackson here but trust me.... I know this for a fact!

The only thing about the bolded part above is that I started the thread with a question mark. I was curious if he might be thinking about Boyle. And whether the Danville paper is "D-list" or not, they are usually spot on when it comes to coaching hires.
