:devil:When you have a head coach that attends the basketball game on the only day that tryouts can be held on the field that causes problems. Then you have players that attend no conditioning or mandatory tryouts and make the team. So now what do you think the problem is?

That game was the basketball teams regional game, so I don't blame him for supporting his school. I'd like to hear what problems people have with the team?

Did the right people not make it? Because there was no argument about that around the school, so I don't know what that would have to do with anything.

There are grumblings but IMO you are just looking for something that does not need to be brought up on a message board. Leave it alone. You said you are hearing things and more than likely they are true, why do you want to bring them up on a message board to create even more drama? And more than likely it is none of your business.

Regional or not the coach's responsiblity is the baseball team. I believe the school system pays him for coaching baseball not attending basketball games. Maybe he should have cancelled tryouts and more of the students could have attended the regionals to support the team.

Rumor has it that at least one player was told not to come back to tryouts because of grade issues. That player continued to attend tryouts and made the team, but was not able to play the first games because of grades.

Sounds like the camels need to bring in some professionals to pick their team and not just go by a players last name. After all the coach didn't feel the need to watch tryouts and made cuts before basketball was over. Wonder how many were cut in the second round of tryouts?

The only reason I ask is because its very unusual for any team, even a high school team to already have complaints about a team when they havent even finished one week of the season, and well even though they are 0-2 and havent gotten through a whole week, these grumblings were already happening before the season started, it just seemed to me like things have got a little more sour when adding 2 bad losses on there. Just wanting to know what the deal is?

Every player is told that grades are part of what goes into making the team along with discipline within the school setting and of course the players skill. All of these things are monitored throughout the season and are taken into consideration when it comes to playing time. I am quite certain a PLAYERS NAME has nothing to do with it. I know for a fact the past three years there have been two players, relatives of a coach, who have been cut, so I am positive there is no sign of nepotism when it comes to making one of the teams. To me sounds like someone still has sour grapes and is looking at the Varsity slow start to harp on non-issue once again.

Varsity plays of tough schedule to begin the year, there is a great deal of promise and expectations are very high for this year’s team. Let’s try having some patience and see how things play themselves out. The goal is not to win every game, it is unrealistic for that to happen, should they strive for that, absolutely, but the true focus should be on getting better as the year goes and to be peaking when it counts and to compete and win district and regional titles.

FYI – there were at least two basketball players cut that tried out and a few others who seen the writing on the wall and decided to concentrate on basketball. CCHS had tryouts last longer (# of days) than just about every other NKY school.

JV Team: 1 – 0 (beat Beechwood)

Freshman Team: 2 – 0 (beat Ryle and Dixie)

I have faith and confidence in the program and the players.

19 runs given up in the first two games over at least 7 pitchers. Many errors and miscues. A lot of work on fundamentals needs to happen. Many technique issues from fielding to hitting (or lack of).

All of which can be fixed with good technique and practice emphasis.

Attending the regional game while having practice is wrong. Wanting to do something fun instead of what is required is really poor judgement.

The program has been great it seems the past few years, its when they get to the big show that things just dont seem to get done. I don't get all the know how in the program but I know the past few years both freshman and JV teams always post great records and have really strong teams, but yet the same kids when they get to the varsity level seem to have a .500 record or there abouts and for the past 2 seasons never got out of a week district. Everyone always hears of some good athletes in the school and coming up, and see them playing well in the lower levels then for some reason at the top they seem to perform at a step back from where they use to be. As for what I have been hearing the whole reason many people are upset, are not from the "program" as much as being very upset at one level, the varsity level. Confidence should be with the players, because they are suppose to be good atleast as what I hear, its other things that people are talking about.

The coaches on the varsity are not devoting enough time to the team. They are taking too many days off without practicing. Assintant coach is gone for two weeks on a cruise. When people offer to help coach they are turned away, you need more than two coaches. It's been this way for the last few years. With the talent they had last year they should have challenged for region title. Things wont change this year either. It's a shame that the seniors have to experience this. Problem is they knew this going in to tryouts, in return you create a negative attitude on the team. You can't run a program when you have coaches that don't agree how a program should be run.Good Luck to the Camels the players deserve better.

It is not the regional game parents and fans get upset about. It is when the coach leaves for two or three days to attend the sweet sixteen with his buddies that is wrong. The last couple years it would have been the first time the players could get outside.

The 37th District is the toughest district in the region and is one of the tougher ones in the state with Campbell, Scott, Brossart, and Silver Grove (depending whos on the mound)
