Marijuana causes impaired judgement. Therefore, it endangers not only the user but innocent by standers. It doesn't need to be legalized----I would be totally against it.

Many of the problems associated with things like drugs, and prostitution comes from the prohibition of them. I think marijuana should be legal for the same reasons a plethora of other vices are.

If de-criminalized, we wouldn't have to spend millions/billions on incarceration, enforcement, and investigation. It could be taxed, and safely administered by reputable and regulated companies. It would no longer be a back alley thing. The same could be said of prostitution.

 

Now don't get me started on our prison system, but we could keep a lot of people out of jail by de-criminalizing pot.

This position has always amazed me that people think that the CRIMINALS who now sell this junk are ALL OF A SUDDEN going to grow a conscience and pay taxes on items that they are selling presently and PAYING NO TAXES on.

I will tell the family whose son stole their mortgage payment to go by pot that it didn't really happen. They will be glad to know that you have pointed out that it was not reality but propaganda.

What I do know is that when something in this country is banned, and the demand for that product is still high, the crime rate will go up and people will get hurt.

 

People are going to drive drunk whether it's banned or not. People are going to get alcohol whether it is banned or not.

 

Prohibition was our best effort at banning alcohol. All prohibition did was create organized crime in America. It made guys like "Lucky" Luciano and Al Capone rich and famous for running alcohol illegally and committing other crimes, including murder.

 

I understand your beliefs and how you may believe it is wrong. However, others may not. God gives people choices for a reason IMO.
