I agree 100% even without one of their starters transfering to another school than talk about the players and coaches that is there now. They won six games this past season,I believe.

I have never said anything bad about the girls at Rose Hill. All I have said is some of the girls really do not like basketball and that when you do not like something you are not going to put in the extra time to get better. I have been with these girls since 4th grade and I would never say anything about them. Mark is the coach and I have nothing against him so I have no clue what you are talking about.

You know all this talk about one of the young ladies from Rose Hill transfering out is very disheartning. What ever happened to staying with a school and helping out when they arent doing so well ? Even coaches sometimes will head to greener pastures when they know it's going to be a lean couple of years coming up.

 

I remember a few years back a very talented young lady that transferred out of one school because her dad made her. Why ? Because the coach chose to have closed practices. Her dad was a huge distraction to the whole team. He was always screaming at her and the other girls. They could'nt even hear the coach. It really amazed me. It always amazes me parents that think they know more than the coaches. It has to be their way or no way.

 

I remember growing up and playing softball with the local neighbors. One of the guys got mad because he did'nt like the way the teams were divided up and told everyone that if it didn't go the way he wanted it, he was taking his ball ( the only one we had) and going home. This goes on a lot today in sports. Parents ,if they don't get their way or their child does,nt get enough playing time or get to be the star or disagree with the coach ,they take their child and go to another school.

 

It is simply amazing. What is this teaching our kids ? My father always told me that if you give your word on something or if you commit yourself to something you keep your word and see your commitment through to the end. I wish the girls a great coming up season and hope the best for them. If their is girls that don't want to play or be there than they need to quit or move on. It would be a great dis-service to the team if they stayed.

These girls were worked with as a team ,the problem is some of these girls just dont like basketball and when you dont like something your not going to work hard at it.

It had to be a discouragement for the young girls. I know I got tired of reading the constant bickering on BGP. I wonder if they know what kind of example, and impression it made on everyone.

Rose Hill could not beat them this year they were way to young. In my opinion when you are not happy with the coaches you should not turn to other parents and try to get them to jump on your bandwagon and you should not get the girls together when the coaches are not there and try to turn them against the coaches. This is just my opinion maybe I am wrong.

After some research I see that Razor has 30 post to his credit of which 25 are about Rose Hill's girls. Of the 25, 13 are derrogatory in nature. My question is, who is he trying to convience that things are that bad, himself? or those he hopes with leave?

The parent should have been addressed, and it should have ended at that. The constant arguing should have not continued on BGP. Whether you realize it or not, a lot of people (students, players and parents) read this site. It's not wonder the girls got fed up with basketball. When will adults start acting like adults?

Guess what we can go back forth with this till were blue in the face. What it all comes down to its about the young ldys. When its not about them anymore something is very wrong. My DD has played the the sports she loved sence she was 6. Now did she love them and have the passion she does now at 6 probably not. Every lady is different some are just playing sports for what they consider the fun of it during there school years. And others have a passion and work ethic that cant be matched there all different. Just let them be Kids if they want to try to go to next level support, be there for for them. Ive told mine over the years even before she probably didnt understand it play for your self and your team dont do it for anyone else not because you think your parents want you to. Do because you want to. Parents can be a great help to a team or a cancer that can rip one a part. When mine started years back me and my wife had are own issues to deal with. Youve got to step back and let them make there own mistakes and learn from them. Over all ive been around a great bunch of young ladys over the years. I say good luck to all of them in are area. Or till they play my DDs teams LOL. Just my 2 cents didnt mean to rattle on.

I can only speak for myself but I never was asked to turn against any of the coaches. Beating Ashland and Boyd Co. never was mentioned. That being said it seems this thread is turning in the wrong direction. It has gone away from Rose Hill's next season to seasons past. If I was a Mod I know what I would do.

Just run a good clean program and the ones that want to play will play and the ones that want to go will go. Dont stand in the way of any of them wanting to go (Especially if they are good and want to come South on Rt 23 and play:thumb:LOL). I think sometimes everyone just tries to hard to build a program, when sometimes the program will built itself with honesty and time. Some parents get too rapped up in their child and are going to feel like other places are the best for them, let them go. Those types of parents will have the same problems at the next school and you wont have to deal with them. Rose Hill seems to be a quality school, but sounds like it needs a good sports administrator to get things lined out. Good luck this upcoming season.

I would just like to say that some of you have no clue what happend at Rose Hill and you are going to get 2 sides and I understand that I just think its a shame that some of you want to talk about something you have no clue you want to come on here and tell people what the right thing is and you have no clue. I would just like to say that Rose Hill has been great to both of my kids and we have really enjoyed it there. My son has been there since K-3 and has played baseball and basketball every year he could, yes we have had some bad seasons and some great ones but he is still there and will graduate from there. On the other hand my daughter will be going to Ashland next season but it has nothing personal against the school. I am doing what I think is best for her at this time, and believe me I always wonder if I am making the right decision because she has been at Rose Hill for so long and Ashland will be such a big change. The girls at Rose Hill will always have a special place in our heart we have had such a wonderful time with them. The one thing that scares us is not enough girls that want to play and yes there is one parent that has done the school an injustice and we do not want to go through another season with him. Mark Watkins is a good coach and will do fine with the girls. My daughter and I have already discussed what will happen if she just does not like it at Ashland and we hope that Rose Hill would have us back if that would happen but if they dont then they dont. I guess you guys can now jump on this post and tell me whats right and wrong. Just remember I have nothing against the girls at Rose Hill.

You have got to do what you and child think is best for her .It doesnt matter what anyone else thinks. I think it will be a great move for her she will be a great pick up for ashland. I hope everything works out for her , Shes a great kid. Good luck
