Sounds like a poor effort by Paducah Tilghman.

PT had 10 turnovers in the first quarter, I think they had 20 turnovers at the half. I believe Mason Co was up 38-11 at the half, the lead eventually went to 39 points before the subs came in and played the last 10 minutes or so.

Amazing thing is, Mason Co only had 3 more points than what they had in the 1st half against Elliott. All the turnovers obviously was the big, big difference. I think Middleton and Setty each ended up with around 15, I'm sure Miller had around 20, I know he had 10 straight points to start the 3rd.

Just a great effort, put the game away early and get the starters some much needed rest.

Congrats to Mason, but what makes me sad is knowing that Elliott County should very well be in the Final Four of the state.

I was hard on Elliott all year, they proved to a lot of people that they will be deserving of a pre-season top 10 ranking next year.

With that said, I'm very happy that they are enjoying the rest of the state tournament on the radio like the rest of us. :thumb:

I just hope they schedule a top 10 schedule for next season. That would make a world of difference.

With the 16th as depleted as it will likely be, you would hope they would put together a VERY difficult schedule. They won't get any kind of test from anyone in that region, no offense to anyone there.

If it were me, I would play everyone I could play in the top 10. The record may not shine, but they'll put themselves in position to win the state championship.

I guess Greenwood really was that bad.....I thought this would be better than a 30 point game at the half.

Mason looked really good and I'm not sure Shelby County will be able to stay within 20...

I'd say things are looking favorable for a Mason/LexCath final.

Logistically/geographically that will probably be a problem.

I'm sure that they will play in a few showcases and the Fifth-Third, but night in and night out, unless they are willing to really log some miles, their primary competition will again come from the 16th Region.

Bottom line ... Tilghman may not be quite as good as they looked in the first round. They are certainly better than they played against Mason.

Mason got a wake-up call by Elliott ... that wasn't the same team that took the floor for the first round game, and it's my understanding that a player or two admitted as much in the postgame interviews.

Paducah didn't play very good at all. But yes, Greenwood WAS that bad too.

Glad to see the subs get good playing time in Rupp. Hope they come out tomorrow and play like this for two games. I'm very excited to watch the Holmes v. Catholic tomorrow. Should be a dandy. Congrats to Mason on the win and PT on a good run to state. They are probably the most athletic team in the tourny (even their subs.)
