I think Hopson is a better offensive player than Miller. He got a lot of drives even though Catholic was trying to collapse on him. He doesn't involve his teammates as well as Miller. His defense needs to go to the Billy G boot camp and it will be all right. Hopson has a nice touch but his mechanics are a little odd. He does get excellent extension on his shot which should make it hard to block. Seems to be extremely quick and a very good leaper. I did not see the lazy player I've seen fans talk about on here. I really like him.

I think the bad rap on Hopson being lazy comes largely from Mason fans such as yourself and UK diehards who want their guy to be Mr. Basketball. Not fair to Hopson at all.

Sure quickness was ... When Warren Gross and Zack Marcum came off the bench to press, the Cards were VERY quick. You're wrong.

And, yes, Lex Cath is quick.

Walt Allen, Hammonds, Fields, Smith, and Profit are not very quick. They were great high school basketball players, but quickness wasn't their main strength.

LexCath has 2 players I would consider to be quick and that would be Sanford and Stewart. Holmes has a ton of quick teams, much like Bryan Station, Ballard, Dunbar, etc.

By the way, Gross is one of the best defenders I've seen play in the past 10 years.

 

Jimmy Warren of Scott Co. is the best Ive seen in the past 10 years. He was an amazing on the ball defender!

Botkin has a bit more quickness than you might think. Tribble also isn't necessarily fast but does well guarding and pressuring other team's guards on defense. Finally, I'd say while he doesn't get a lot of play, and is totally out of control at times, Corvin, an occassional 4 or 5 for the Knights has speed. Was a star wide reciever for the school.

He is more saying SL is not quick, than LC is not quick.

I'm not trying to be critical of LexCath, I am simply saying thats not what you say when you watch LexCath play. LexCath is very long and aggressive. They play very physical and run their system very well.

No worries, I didn't take it as critical of Lex Cath. I was just stating my opinion of Lex Cath's speed. I agree long and aggressive also account for a lot of the Knight's defensive pressure.
