Not that we have a winner I would like to hear what everything thinks about Ryle throwing the football? Please be constructive.

 

I will start, I think Ryle committing to a balanced attack is a huge step in the right direction of being able to compete with X and T.

 

For the record, I was going to say him. I'd still like a prize, however . . . .

 

It appeared as though last season they had all the parts available to them to be a good throwing team - a nice-throwing QB, solid O-line, awesome TE, and good WR's. But their schemes just were poor, IMHO. I believe that part will be fixed this year with a new OC, but he must now must work with a very young and inexperienced QB (although there is apparently a new QB in the picture fighting for the spot) and many losses to be filled on the line and in the receiving corps. I think you will definitely see Ryle move towards a more pass-oriented attack this coming season if for no other reason than they are thinner than usual at the RB spot (not devoid of talent, by any means, but just a tad younger than ususal).

I agree. In fact, had they been more balaced in 2006 I think we would have had a good game on our hands in December.

I remember that as well. I just am of the mindset that while I know we would have won either way that in doing that it would have kept them from getting as downtrodden as they did. Once we jumped on top of them they lost all of their fight. It would have been a much better game if the forward pass was an effective part of their arsenal.

I'm glad that the coach added the part about accuracy, because for a minute I was worried that he wanted to throw the ball with inaccuracy.

Well, being an Owen Hauck guy, "passing" and "accuracy" are not normally in the same sentence.

I think Bryson Warner knows if he wants to compete with X and T he needs to throw the ball. And he is a great coach if he wants to throw the ball alittle then thats what Ryle will do. They have the athletes to do it and look for them to be more competitive then they already are.
