Campbell Co. has several very good freshman, Kremer, Teegarden, Rebholz, Jenkins, Losey,and Shepard. Just to name some of them. they should have a very strong squad this year.

 

Agree. Sounds like the AABC-Riverbats/Monarchs teams. But, it should be a good series with the Beechies. Some of the frosh Beechies played for the Bluegrass Knights. Maybe these players will meet in the frosh tourney.

All three of these players will probably end up on the J.V. level by the end of the year. Brad Leeke, I heard, had Tommy John. Zac Larimore will be a straight pitcher at the varsity level. Josh Bertke will need to improve his arm strength to play third on the varsity level.

 

That may be true, but you gotta love a NKY powerhouse with low enough numbers at the upper classmen level to let some younger kids get a little PT. Oh yea, these kids play other sports there also... and that's O.K... from what I hear.

Bertke-Beech, Popham-Dixe, Kelly-NCC, Sullivan-Walton and Rebholz-CCHS all have the potential to be stars at the High School level. The best program in NKY was the Bluegrass Knights, and they have sent a tremendous number from the class of 2011 into the upper levels of their respective High Schools this year.

 

This age group is deep, maybe one of the deepest in recent history. This age group took advantage of getting away from Knothole and putting a group of young men into the select baseball ranks, defintely a group that will be able to compete with the Lexington and Louisville kids.

 

Keep and eye out for any of the kids who came from these Rosters: Bluegrass Knights, NKY Knights, Monarchs, NKY Riverbats, NKY Reds. These kids competed and won against the best competition in the nationally renowned SWOL league, and have travled all over the Mid-West and Southern states competing against the best teams in the country.

I have to disagree with you somewhat skunk. That is that the Bluegrass knights were the best program in NKY. I don't know how you can seperate the five teams that you mentioned, as one program is better than the other. I believe that the Riverbats have a better win loss record against the Knights, year in and year out, they only played the Monarchs one time and the bats won that. The reds and the bats are pretty close in wins and losses.The only thing is you made a pretty short list when you name that three or four

I belive each would agree that on any night, one could beat the other. In any case, these teams put together arguably the best class in the NKY area in many years. I believe that the class of 2011 will produce some of the best baseball that this area has seen in many years. Let time speak for itself, this is an extremely talented group and were instructed at the highest level.

Popham for Dixie is a very good ball player. He competed well against top teams in the state in the beginning of the season and will be a solid ball player in the future. As for Shumate for Cov Cath, he is an average player when it comes to JV baseball. He is a step ahead most freshmen but in terms of Varsity playing time? I see 0.

I'd like to have the scorebooks for all these games .I would have to say the Knights won more games against the Bats than they lost .But,I agree all these young men have bright futures and should be a WHOS WHO in the 9 th region and hopefully the state .:thumb:

Two fine teams no matter the recrds (as is all the rest mentioned). I would take the coaches; Bertke, Shepard, Sullivan, Downs & Waibel, and put them on any HS coaching staff in the State at the HS level and feel comfortable that they will produce winning athletes.

 

I don't want to lose sight of the kids who did not play for these teams. It is already bearing fruit for many other Freshman teams that kids from both Kenton & Boone county youth leagues are holding their own, it's just that they have not seen the competition of the aformenetioned teams and may not have had as solid as coaching staffs that these teams had.
