Does everything that your church publishes reflect everything that you believe, think or feel about issues? Or are there some things you might have some differences about but find that your church is still your church?

 

If something happened with the leadership of your church and/or they did or said something that you disagreed with, will your ties or connection to that body still paint you as something you just might not be?

I visited the church website and didn't see any of this crap. And so what if it did? McCain is endorsed by nutjobs, and Republicans regularly speak at Bob Jones University. It's ok for Mr. McCain to be proud of his nutjob endorsements but not for Mr. Obama to have a pastor that says things some may not agree with? I know many progressive evangelicals that go to Baptist churches but don't agree with their stance on some social issues. I see a huge double-standard here.

There is a huge difference between having a nutjob endorse you and aligning yourself with a nutjob. Rev Wright married Obama and his wife, he has babtized Obama's kids, and he is Obama's spirtural guide so to speak. The man gave a life time acheivement award to the racist Louis Farrakhan. Your comparison are not even in the same sport let alone ball park.

An endorsement is something that candidates cannot control. What they can control is the church they attend. My church has an impact on my beliefs and values. I just find it somewhat alarming that, if what was posted earlier is true, that the church Mr. Obama attends mission statement/beliefs appear to be racist to a degree. Do you not agree with that? Not saying that he is racist in anyway shape or form, I just find it odd that someone is his position would choose to associate himself with a group that holds those particular beliefs.

 

Like I said, it could all be made up and if that is the case, then it really is just an effort to bash this candidate. Maybe someone who is resourceful on here can dig up the true dirt on this?

You are wrong and if you pastor does believe what you say then I am not sure what to think about him. If I didn't not believe in what my pastor was preaching or did not agree with is moral beliefs then I would either A) do what I could to have him removed or B) find a new church. You don't spend 20 years of your life with a church and Pastor that you don't respect or agree with. You also don't have that pastor marry you and your wife and babtize your children.

 

I didn't say Obama agreed with the Farrakhan but he obviously thinks highly of Rev Wright and Rev. Wright thinks very highly of Farrakhan. The fact is Farrakhan is a racist and a lunatic and I am not too sure Rev. Wright isn't far behind him.

His full name is Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. If you can find an audio clip, it is well worth the listen. The hatred for American whites comes through loud and clear. I do not believe that it would have been possible for him to have hidden that venom from Obama and the would-be First Lady for the past 20 years.
