It is with great sadness that I come to you today and tell you that I have dropped ministry as my major in college. As some of you know I transferred to a new college in Jan. and I have decided to take up Pre-Med.

 

I cannot minister within a faith I do not know if I believe in anymore. My Girlfriend is Jewish and has shown me that the Christian Religion is possibly distorting the Messianic Scripture.

Gooch, this post probaby bothers me more than any post I've seen on BGPs ever and you can ask my Brothers/sisters who are Rock and X fans. God has given you freewill to make this decision and Jesus also said "I'm the Way, the Truth and the Life, NO ONE comes to the Father except through me".

 

Read Hebrews chapter 10 and Galations chapter 5.

 

The Path to heaven has a narrow gate, and only a few will enter.

I reread your post Gooch. How did she sway you to leave your Christian faith and possible fall away?

Keep an open mind but do what you believe in your heart. Don't change religions (or anything about yourself) for a girl.

Gooch. Just pray about it. I left my position as a youth leader (on the path to ordination) b/c I started to really worry if I believed everything that Baptists believed. I figured out that the answer was no so I left my church and I'm still searching for a new church home. Don't change religions over a girl, but be considerate about her beliefs. Above all.....pray.

I was having doubts before I met her, she just made me feel comfortable enough to express them.

The book of Mathew was written for the Jewish believer and uses many corrisponding scripture to the old testiment. It takes time but this book relates alot of cross referencing.

 

Some have said that some of the claims among the Jewish people, are to be fullfilled during the second coming.

Well said. I have seen so many people leave churches or the faith altogether because of human action. Never in God's actions. Just don't rush at any decision on this. Thoughtful prayer and consideration should drive your decisions and your life. If I can help in anyway, please don't hesitate to ask.

Quoting scripture is not going to help thegooch because he believes that Christians have distorted the original meanings of the OT, meaning that Christ is not the savior because he does not fit what was prophesized.

gooch .... I say this in all love ... You have dropped more than just your ministry major .... your playing a dangerous game with your soul and your playing a game with a God that is not in the game playing business.

Put your faith and trust in God and not God's people. While we are supposed to be images of God and Jesus, how I am supposed to be living a perfect life when I am not a perfect person? Isn't that unfair to ask me to be perfect and never mess up?

 

Heck, look at the OT and the actions of the Jewish people. God brought them out of Egypt through parting the Red Sea, fed them with manna and their reply. Built a Golden Calf.
