I will stay here and voice my opinion. I dont just quit and run when things go bad. I am leaving the church because I dont honestly believe in it anymore. Is that so hard to understand?

Just trying to come to a reason why you no longer believe in what the Bible says.

 

And it seems that you simply don't want to believe, but would rather believe what you personally think is the best.

 

I will be the first to admit that I am not smart enough to know how all eternity should be handled and so why I rely on what God has told us in the form of the Bible.

 

If I came on here and said that I believe this and you all should do it because this is what LBBC believes and I am smarter than all of you, you have every right to call me out on it, like you did.

1) Do you believe there is no God?

2) Do you not believe that Jesus was the Son of God and came down to this earth to serve as our Savior?

I dont know if Christians have the finger on salvation. Meaning I am beginning to believe there is more than just one way to heaven.

It's not my intention, and I hope this doesn't offend, but from previous discussion I've been involved in with you, I never got the impression that you ever fully believed in the Bible. I certainly think you believed some of it, but I always got the sense that there were things in the Bible that you just did not believe or accept.

 

When I think of someone who claims to believe the Bible, I think of someone who believes everything it says, regardless of their personal feelings on the issue. This isn't intended as any kind of attack or insult, so I hope you don't take it that way...I just always got the feeling that you weren't 100% sold on the Bible to start with and there were things you doubted or just didn't believe/accept. I'm just curious if that feeling was correct...

I think what LBBC is pointing out is that it doesn't make sense to have that position because if you don't believe His claim to be the Son of God, then you would assume he was wrong, and therefore a crackpot (because of what he was claiming).

 

But you are entitled to your own.

Are you talking about his whole message or just the part that you like? And I am not trying to be flippant about this because it is too serious of an issue but not sure how to word the above that it doesn't come across as that way in print.

 

The main part of his message was that he was the Son of God and chose to come down here to be a sacrifice for us so that we have the opportunity at eternal life with God.

 

If he was wrong on that one, what does that make his entire message?

All the knowledge you speak about and no faith. I do worry for you, but I know when you are ready to return home you will be given a robe to wear, a ring for your finger, sandals for your feet, and the fattened calf will be killed.
