Congratulations to both teams for making it to the finals. Looks like the 62nd is the class of the region this year.

Since their Freshman year Ferg and the Ferguson twins have made 3 straight 16th Region Final games. They showed grit and determination tonight and actually had RH on the ropes several times with double digit leads, but couldn't deliver the knock out blow. In the championship they will have East on the ropes in the 2d half and will deliver the knockout blow. Plus Elliott still didn't shoot the three ball well and has not in last 2 weeks, but they played fantastic defense against a much taller RH team. Tim Knipp played like a monster on the inside and had the best game I have seen him play. If they can get their long ball going again they will be a hard out for even a Mason!!!

Elliott 75

East 56

The prediction everyone has been waiting on, especially Strike3. :D

Elliott County 71

East Carter 57

I am amazed at the grit, determination, and sheer will to win that they displayed last night against a much bigger RH team. Evan Faulkner giving up seven inches to Euton and Ethan Faulkner giving up three inches to Jackson. It will be much the same tonight with East having two 6'6" players and a 6'4" player. Somebody forgot to tell the Faulkner twins and Ferguson that they are not that tall and can't get those shots off inside against much taller opponents and can't guard those big athletic guys. As a central KY resident who just fell in love with the way these boys play the game I am excited about the next few games this year and the possiblities of next year. I believe in the Hoosier's Miracle story and still think the BIG TROPHY will land in Sandy Hook before the Faulkner's and Ferg's careers end. Sandy Hook will be known for more than the home of the late great singer Keith Whitley!!!

Some of you are laughing, but one must believe in dreams and the impossible. If anybody can overcome the odds then this bunch of juniors with a little help from a 6'7" freshman can. They make all the little guys and underdogs of the world proud!!! GO LIONS!!! Was this a quality win that the naysayers were looking for or do we need to beat Mason in the State?? I believe they can play with anybody in the state or I wouldn't drive 2 hours to see them play about 10 times this year. Again, I hear the laughing!!! But I enjoy laughing more many reasons. BE HAPPY!!!

I have been out of town, haven't posted much the last 5 days. Wasn't able to post in the RH/Elliott thread since it got closed, SO:

I want to say congrats to Elliott on the win, I have been hard on them at times this year when they have played in big games, but they were the better team and I wish them the best of luck in this 16th final game against East.

Congrats to RH on a great, great season. Who knows how things will play out "off the court" but they are a great bunch of kids and a wonderful coaching staff. I hope everyone sticks together for another run or two over the next couple years.

On to this game, I think Elliott wins going away.

EE Elliott easily.

I don't think Elliott Co is the underdog in this matchup. They have been ranked number 1 in the region all season long.

Really?? Underdogs?? They have played in the regional finals the last two years and the semifinals of the state tourney last year... not sure I'm buying the underdog thing... I keep hearing this whole "poor little Elliott co" thing from people... I mean they don't have a football team so that is pretty sad but, besides that it seems to me that Elliott co is and will be one of the best teams in the region… Until the juniors graduate... So to come to a point I'm granting underdog status and all the love that comes with it to east carter lol...

Now to the game... I think its easy to see this game could go either way... sure Elliott blew out East once this year, but the other two games could have easily been an East win... So in the 4th match up of two pretty evenly matched teams, I have to say I think coaching and game plan will win/lose this one... and unfortunately for the Lions the best coach in the 16th region resides in Grayson... (Unless the entire Elliott co team gets hot... then I'm not sure anyone can beat them...) with that said:

East 68

Elliott 62

Good luck to coach Baker and staff... as well as the fine boys on that team!!GO RAIDERS!!!

lol goraido beat me to the punch on that one... you're so quick you...

Little guys (class A)of the world...........:banana:Yes.

Underdogs.............:lol:uh, No .

East in a close one. 2 Reasons 1. COACHING 2.Officiating

Elliott is automatically down 12 at the start as they are each game due to coaching & will have to dig themselves out as usual. Plus what game plan Baker will bring tonight gives East an even bigger advantage in this one. Officiating definitely favors East as the officials let the rough stuff go & calls the ticky-tack junk.

Matters little what I say, the old ha....uh...Ms Liberty is always on my case! And I don't think she knows that much about basketball, probably thinks a double dribble is when she spills her Geritol liquid twice before bedtime!;)

I really think Elliott Co is much more physical than East Carter. I think that if the officials "let the rough stuff go" it favors Elliott. Elliott has shot 49 free throws in 2 games, East has shot 36. Rose Hill shot 17 free throws in 2 games. Last night, Elliott Co shot 19 free throws, Rose Hill shot 9.
