Corbin 84 Knox Central 73

The Blur (Wilson) was the difference tonight, IMO his one man fast breaks to the basket wore down KC, and in the second Johnson surely went off, I felt KC played their hearts out but got tired in the 4th, Corbin had to much depth for KC to subtain their great play of the first half. Great crowd and a good job by both teams and coaches. I don't think Miller was 100% he seemed to be sick or something, coughing alot etc... he and Johnson have to be two of the best soph. in the state.

I noticed Miller coughing a lot, too. He probably has the same stuff I do. It's not good.

Good Win for the Hounds. Now onto South. Is it time for the Empire to fall or will they keep on rolling along to Rupp....that might be the title of a new Roscoe CD available this spring.

Man the Wilson kid is tough as boot leather. While I'm obviously not saying he's on that level, he reminds me a lot of Rajon Rondo. He's just so quick and pesky. He can keep you honest with the deep ball but his bread and butter is slipping and sliding through the timbers and getting to the hole or dishing to the open man. He may not be an inch over 5'9" or even have the best leaping ability but he has been a solid little rebounder too. He is one of the top players in the region regardless but if he were 6'1 or 6'2" we'd probably be saying Josh who? Desmond Who? or Cody Who?

As for the game, great win for the Hounds. I know South has a 2-1 advantage on Corbin this year but I still think a lot of it is a mental block to Corbin. South may get the win tomorrow but I really think that this game tonight was between the region's top two teams.

Surprised we haven't had anyone say anything about they officials, were they even anyone their calling? Or did they do such a good job no one noticed them? Just wondering how the 14th region was doing over in the 13th?

For the most part they did a good job, IMO they missed a couple of block/charge calls and I don't think the tall one blew his whistle twice the whole game (sometimes not a bad thing) overall well called. Now if the 3 that called the second game are the crew tonight look out, at one point it was "no death, no foul", bodies flying all over the place!

The pace of the game that Wilson set offensively may have helped to tire the Panthers as well, they seemed to run out of gas late in the game.

I couldn't agree more. For whatever reason the tank was empty coming around the final turn. Talking about fatigue, South has the advantage going into the finals.

Hopefully, they will let them play and let them decide the outcome. Put the whistle in your pockets and play ball. IMO the 13th got the better end of the stick because our refs went somewhere else. lol:flame:

I believe 2 of them that called the Corbin/Knox game will be on the final tonight, definitely the tall skinny one because he is going to the state tourney, along with the heavy set one that called the second game. Should all let them play, will be fun game to watch. Good luck to both teams.

I agree ever kid should get tackled on the court.

I always was one to believe that basketball was a game of skill, the ability to move one's feet in cordination with body to stay in front of the opponent, not to push a player up and down the court. Just my opinion!

Yes the refs are alot better.:dancingpa

Basketball is a game of skill. I have watched many games over the years in the 13th and it seems like MANY of the refs want to still the show. I go to watch the kids play the game of basketball and not to see a ref put on a show. Its about the 17 and 18 year olds not about the refs. That is why I said put the whistle in the pocket, I didn't mean for it to turn out like a hockey game. Call what needs to be called and let the rest go. The players should decide the outcome not an official making a call so he can run to center court to be seen. They need to reguire them to watch Mr. Cupp call a game from some old film. He called it straight up, took no mouth and let the players determine the game. JMHO.

Alot of people (not saying you lungbuster) want the refs to put away the whistle, but when their team starts getting hammered they yell "you have got to call that" or "you are letting the game get away from you", IMO they should call the obvious infractions and not look for or make-up calls. Who is Mr. Cupp?

I understand what you are saying but you will not hear it from Lungbuster. My team was out before the region. lol

I am thinking Jack Cupp. A great ref in the late 70's early 80's. Time seems to go around in circles anymore so I might be off a tad. I happen to see him at a North Laurel game back a few years ago. Someone told me he had been the AD at one of those schools. I am thinking he retired maybe 6 or 7 years ago? He was known as WALKING TALL in my neck of the woods. You always new you had a good one when you seen him on the court.

Jack Cubb & Mike Maxie were the two best ever in the 13th. Then and now.

He would not get my vote based on the Corbin/Clay Co. game, but I don't believe that I get a vote anyway.
