Doesn't Coach Combs have a young baby and another one on the way? Coaches are people too? I'm about positive he had no family in the area so maybe that had something to do with him leaving. I know I went to school with him and have been around him at campse etc. He is a great guy and loved his kids at Lewis Co. He had an uphill battle there and worked hard with what he had. He's sparked the intrest of a lot of kids there which is a good thing. Lewis is a tough job because you have a lot of country kids that are spread out + work on the farms etc. It's a lot like where I grew up. There are a lot of barreirs to overcome that don't happen at a lot of other schools.

I wish Lewis Co the best of luck in their search and I wish Coach Combs the best of luck in his new endevor. I don't think there's a need to bash him or the program. He worked hard + his kids worked hard.

I don't want to bash Coach Combs but it's not fair to the program not to report what was really going on and that is there were a lot of kids that didn't want to play for Coach Combs. I'm sure he is a good person and I know he can coach, but it just wasn't the right fit at LC. Stick you are correct with most of your post, he had an uphill battle and anyone who takes this job will. If you don't have the right personality to mix with the kids here then you better not apply. It's all about numbers, we have the kids to put a good team on the field you just have to get the kids interested and HAVING FUN. Claiming there is enough kids there to put a good field on the team, by the look at the records since 1998, there has not been a good team on the field so where are they? I mean 5-5 is not really good even with the two bonus OT losses.

Laziness! Kids werent committed to his approach and work effort and therefore dont even come out for the team.Coach Combs really pushes kids in the weight room and on the field to benefit themselves but they dont look at it that way. They would prefer to sit at home and do nothing rather then work.

:thumb: Thats the way it's been for years. Whoever is the new coach better find a way to get the kids to push themselves without pushing them away.
