Clark Stepp a Wildcat?

Featured Replies

I beg to differ-Garrison Collins JBS 6'9 kid will definitely play at the next level. He has improved greatly over the year and will continue to improve his senior year. IMO, this kid hasn't reached his full potential yet. Both Cox and Clint Stepp will definitely get offers as well. Who cares if it's a NAIA school or a major D1 school-these kids will be getting their college paid for. Let's congratulate them instead of degrading...

Totally agree!

I think we should scrap this idea and just have his uncle Ervin walk on.

If he wants to walk on at UK, then I support that 100%. Having seen him play, I am not sure how well he would fit into the UK system. But if Cameron Mills can contribute, then why not Stepp or Sloane?

Mills was much better than Stepp or Sloane.

So, are you saying that Stepp is as good as Lofton, when they were seniors in High School. And that UK can't would be making a mistake by not signing him?

Absolutely not. What i'm saying is the posters on BGP are not the most skilled talent evaluaters on the planet. They said the exact same things about Chris.

If Kentucky takes ANY players from the 14th or 15th Region in the next TWO years, it will be the worst mistake in Kentucky history!!!!!!! Some people need to come to reallity about these mountain players..........

Maybe this Sophmore class in the mountains has a chance.....

This thread is crazy. How can we think about comparing Clark to Chris Lofton, who won a state tournament, or Cameron Mills, who took Dunbar to the final four? Clark went to one sweet sixteen and lost in the first round. With that said, good luck Clark, when Billy G. gets hold of you, you're going to need it.

As far as Stepp being compared to Lofton, that is a complete joke, not even close to Loftons league. And I totally agree about no players from the 14th or 15th being able to play in the SEC, quite comical to me.

I would like to see UK give Slone a chance to play. I think Stepp would be a great player at the NAIA level.

Disagree! Josh Whitaker-Hazard can play in the SEC. Maybe not every school but there are some good fits for him and his abilities in the SEC. It as amazing to me that every year the so called basketball gurus say who can and can't play in certain areas but every year there is a kid or two that graduates from a D-1 school after playing and contributing to those D-1 schools.

Disagree 100%.

I'm with you. Unless Whitaker has grown SEVERAL inches, I don't see how this is possible. Nice HS ballplayer, though, with lots of time to improve, but not that much.

Does this fly in the face of BCG's pledge to not stop recruiting till he signs all McD all-Americans?

I'm not comparing Lofton and Stepps ability. I'm comparing their situation.

I like it that BCG is at least paying attention to Kentucky boys. It wouldn't hurt to have a few "fan favorite" cigars on the bench.
