Montgomery Co. 71 Pendleton Co. 42 (10th Region 1st Round)

Featured Replies

There were many unhappy people in 05 at the Fieldhouse when Pendleton and

Montgomery played in the finals. So what is your point? Get there early if you want in.

May have turned people away, but never 1800 which will be the case in a few days. :flame::flame: 1800 x's 5= 9000. Alot of gate money for 1 game.:confused:

^ There's no way that amount will get turned away. You expect Mason to bring the whole town or somethin'.

Can we get back to discussing the Pendleton/Montgomery game in this thread?

First, congratulations to my PC Wildcats for playing their hearts out again tonight. They just didn't have enough height to match up against the Indians.

Second, congratulation to Montgomery County for a nice job hosting the tourney thus far. The crowds were moved into the building in timely manner and the traffic moved out quickly. The new gym is very nice and I especially enjoyed not having to stand in line 20 minutes to go to the restroom. Good luck in the next round.

HOOPDR this is what got the topic off base. Everybody loves the potties.

Pendleton could not handle Stephens down in the paint.

Great season by the Wildcats.

Maybe a great finish to win the District, but a great season?

I find it unique that the final score of this game 71-42 is the same final score from the 2005 10th region finals between Pendleton and Mongomery except there was a different winner this time.

Congrats to Montgomery for advancing. Good luck against Scott.

I just want to say congratulations Pendleton County for not only winning the 38th district but overcoming a lot of adversity this season and playing your best basketball at the end of the year. PC players and coaches, you have nothing to be ashamed of. Congrats seniors on hanging some more district numbers in the gym and good luck in whatever you decide to do. Underclassmen, remember what it felt like to win the district and use that as inspiration for the off-season and the 2008-2009 season.

No it is the whiners who force every topic to be about the regionals being held at Montgomery County and not Mason County. Get over it people, the tourney is half over. I debated about adding the facilities comment to my post but I wanted to make sure the Montgomery County people read it and I am sure they are ignoring everything being posted on the other thread. And just for the record I live 30 minutes from Maysville and 1 hr 30 min from Mt Sterling and I will have no problem making the drive again next year to see Pendleton County play.

Once again, thank you to my Wildcats for the perseverance they showed at the end of the season. You fought a hard battle against the Indians but they were just too big.

First off congrats to Montgomery County...they are a good basketball team. Good luck against Scott!

But I just want to give some love to the three Pendleton County seniors...Jimmy Booth, Richard Harden, and Derrick Myers. Those guys stuck it out and were rewarded with an amazing run that led to a district title. They really seemed to step up and lead a team that could have been torn apart with all the adversity they faced. Great job guys and you'll always be remembered for adding another year to the district title banner.

You are the one who complained in this thread first, therefore you are the whiner. Remember it is about the game. Montgomery was to big for Coach Simms and his young Wildcats. I am very proud of Maysville native Chad Simms and the job he did with the adversity he faced this year. The future looks bright in Falmouth with Coach Simms at the helm.

I know tons of people that have been turned away at Mason the last 39 years. Get there early support your team. Get there late its your fault, tune in your radio,go to Berrymans get a hot dog, fill up with gas, drive home and gripe at your wife for making you late.

Congrats to MC. Farewell to the PC Seniors and best of luck. You will have the memories of winning the 2008 Districts the rest of your lives. You guys turned on at the end of the season and made all us PC fans proud. I think Coach Simms has done an excellent job and I look forward to him bringing PC back to the winning column. Winning the districts was a good start after the season lows they have had. Good luck Coach Simms in your future at PC.

One more note. Some on here keep saying get to the Regional game early and get a seat. My question is what if everybody gets there early.:sssh:

Nice article in the Winchester Sun today on the game.

10th Region Tournament: Indians roll

by Travis Waldron

MOUNT STERLING - Pendleton County couldn't stop Jordan Stephens. Montgomery County's 6-foot-8 senior scored 24 points and led the host-Indians to a 71-42 win in the first round of the 10th Region tournament Thursday night at the MCHS Arena.

The Wildcats double- and triple-teamed Stephens throughout the night, but Montgomery kept feeding him the ball and he kept scoring.
