Does anyone know any info on how many games Cal didn't finish? I didn't think the baseball streak was "starts". I thought I remember someone's streak continuing because they pinch-hit one time. They celebrated Cal breaking the record that night in Baltimore in the 5th because it became an official game at that point but he didn't have to play all 5 innings for the streak to continue, right?

This is pretty much an impossible argument. There are so many different variables. While Favre was getting hit by 250 lb men, Ripken was getting hit by 95 mph fastballs and grounders that were even harder.

 

If, and that's a big if, Ripken's is truly more impressive it's because he's in the most physically demanding position in baseball. Besides the catcher.

This is thousands of games were talking here. The average persons arm would have fallen off. Cal by alot.

I think both are amazing and two of the most impressive streaks in any sport. I will without reservation go with Farve though. If you ask a defensive lineman or LBer what their top goal is then most will say it is to inflict as much pain on the QB as possible. DCoordinators make up schemes to try to free up 250lb people on a dead sprint to lay out the QB. Farves streak is one streak that I don't think will ever be broken.
