Congrats to Raceland!

Any observations on the game?

Brooke Keeton (Raceland), Samantha Sparks (Russell), Jessi Marth (Lewis County), Kasey Lewis (Russell), Kayla Parsley (Russell), Ashley Grizzle (Greenup County), Brooke Wilson (Raceland), Kelsey Simpson (Russell), Rachael Vanderhoof (Raceland).

 

:thumb: Thanks for listing them GoRadio and congrats to all of these girls from all of the schools reprsented. A job well done.

 

Also, the article in the Daily Independent was a very good one. Very nice comments by Raceland coach Bob Trimble and a couple of the Raceland players. I would expect nothing less than all class out of coach Trimble and his players.

IMO coach Trimble should definately be considered "COY" in the 16th region due top the job that he has done with this group considering all of the injuries they have had to deal with.

There are certainly some good coaches in the 16th region, no doubt about that but imo none better than coach Bob Trimble at Raceland and the fact that he is all class only adds to it.

Read the article and believe Kidwell really was showing the appreciation of how well Raceland has developed their kids and their youth program, etc.

 

Nice gesture toward Coach Trimble and staff for how they have made Raceland into a formidable team that is now respected.

 

I remember just very recently how disrespected Morgan Co. girls team was and now Coach Jeff Brown, in much the same way as Raceland, has turned Morgan's program around and also have a great feeder system....

 

Russell at 17-10 is impressive when knowing they lost a boat load of talent from last season and Raceland overcoming illness and injury has become an outstanding team. Congrats to Raceland and both teams will be a tough out next week.

First I would like to say congats to Coach Trimble and his staff for a job well done. To the Lady Rams, that was the best ball game I have seen this year, you played with great determination and as always a lot of class. You girls had some big shoes to fill this year and those shoes might have been a little loose in the beginning but now you are filling them nicely on and off the court. To the Lady Rams that have moved on in the last few years I want to say thank you, you girls are the rock that this program is building on. With the coaching staff that is in place and the great participation in the youth leagues, Raceland will be a powerhouse in the 63rd for years to come.

Nice comparison, remember that girls basketball in the 16th has never had this much parity. I think both coaches spoke classfully of the other and believe both to be true. Russell has dominated that district and now Raceland has won 2 in a row, by beating Russell for the only 2 times in school history. Region wide parity is upon us, good luck to both Raceland and Russell next week.

The Lady Rams are all class. Last night I was so proud of their efforts on the court, they showed great determination and perservance throughout the season. However the most moving part of last nights championship probably went unnoticed by many. Raceland junior Jesse Clark took Greenup Co.'s Ashley Grizzle a card signed by the Raceland team and hugged her during the all-district celebration. They took time to recognize this young lady who played so well this week through the loss of her sister. The girls really are all heart on and off the court. This is why Raceland is so special and these young ladies have been able to achieve so much. Great job parents, teachers, and coaches!

Let me first say I am a fan of neither school, but this game IMO was a physical game and I wouldn't say all class by either side, one player slammed the ball at an official and nothing called(I never did figure that one out), I am sure just some frustration.

Congratulations Raceland on a manificent TEAM win against Russell. At times, it looked like there were 6 players out there against 5...very solid defense ladies!! The intensity level and focus of this team was consistent throughout all four quarters...remember that when you play your next game. Best of luck in the regionals....this aint over yet!

Question? Did a player really throw the ball at an official? If so which official? And who were the other officials at this game?

Well what about when a player from Russell ,pushed a Raceland player down twice and went uncalled

I believe that there was a lot of talk on this "game". Several mentioned the defensive effort, there was also scoring totals posted, rebounding, shooting pct.'s. I also believe that playing with heart and determination, Mention of a Great coaching job by Coach Trimble to bring this group together to win "this" game has to do with "this" game as well.

 

So, no in depth details or a play by play was given but people expresed opinions along with stats and some details. I don't know what kind of talk that you were wanting.

As I said earlier, stats, coaching, a link the the ADI article and opinions were posted so I guess the only thing left to say is congrats to the Lady Rams again and congrats as well to Russell on a hard fought game and good luck to both teams in the regional (unless Raceland plays Russell again of course and then my good luck wishes will all go to Raceland:D:thumb:).

Both are very good teams and I hope that both teams remain injury free throughout the rest of the tournaments.

Actually the player you are talking about threw the ball down towards the player she had just knocked down. Typical of this player and not a surprise.
