I was strictly referring to the use of Barack Hussein Obama's middle name. I mean honestly, does anyone think I'm being racist by using it? It's pettiness, plain and simple.

I think the key is that for some key voters out there, if you use it in the wrong tone, there is a racial tone to it. And for you and I to use it, is one thing.

 

For someone on the podium with the candidate for President to use it, is another thing, entirely.

 

Is using it worth the risk to turn off potential voters.

 

I don't think the reward of using it is worth the risk.

 

It is not about whether it is racist' or not but rather how much risk do you take to potential voters by using it.

You using it is not a big deal but if you really don't think it has been used in texts that is supposed to make people think about it then I think you are wrong. Some people on either side of he aisle will use whatever they can to scare people into voting their side. But I think this stuff is back firing on them.

I agree. Making sure to mention Obama's middle name at every opportunity is clearly a thinly veiled attempt to prey on the fears of many Americans. If his middle name were "James" or "Robert" or "William", these idiots wouldn't be calling him by his full name every chance they got. Its a similar tactic to the subtle, but sleazy ad run during Harold Ford's 2006 Tennessee U.S. Senate campaign in which a white woman beckons Ford (who is black) to "call me". Pathetic.

It may not be PCers but rather strategists. There is some thought out there that the negative attacks and trying to link him to Muslims, is actually HELPING Obama.

 

Lbbc is right. Same way that Hillary's debate performance (IMO, and in the eyes of plenty of others) backfired on her and just made Obama look better.

Agreed, his consistent forgiveness is helping him.

 

In a metaphorical way, maybe the way that Obama keeps FORGIVING his critics is in away appeasing the American public, who, convinced/brainwashed by the media, believe they deserve an apology after the last 8 years of W.
