This is a very conservative forum, as you have noticed. Not many on here really want to know the facts about any Democrat. As this thread will show!!

I find this interesting, but to me it avoids my concerns about Obama and gun owner rights, what does he think about limiting the size of clips you can purchase, what does he think about owning assault rifles. To me the concern over second amendment isn't about hunting it's about the second amendment. The second amendment was designed to allow Americans to have weapons to defend themselves and even to be able to form militias to defend themselves, and this statement avoids this issue altogether. I would be curious how Obama confronts these issues as a former law professor. I may be wrong but I would assume he would be in favor of banning certain types of fire arms in this country.

Not casting any doubt on his contributions but claiming these things and then them actually being true can be two different things.

 

In the political game, I could easily see someone setting this up to CYB while knowing you are accepting donations from someone that does not fit all of the above criteria.

over 967,000 people have donated (on his site) so I would assume there would be some that slip through. They have stated that they returned some donations because of conflicts. I would rather a candidate take this stance than those of Clinton or McCain.

Obama has said that he supports the 2nd amendment right for individuals to own guns. I'm pretty sure he does not support owning assault rifles.

 

I do not think that Obama would ban handguns and such, but I would not be surprised if he tried to bring back the old Clinton Assault Weapon Ban, or something like it.

There was a debate on Stephanoupoulus show that Obama has said if the Rep candidate takes gov sponsored money for the general election, he will too.

 

I think when they get to the general election, it should be a requirement that both go with that money to have a "level playing field."

Americans to purchase, own, transport, and use guns for the purposes of hunting and target shooting . Yet again a very evasive statement. Makes no statement about protecting the rights for protection or concealed carry, or what type of firearms you may own. Although he does say he beleives in the second amendment, he did not say he would protect it!
