The 2nd Amendment - Where do they stand?

I will never vote for a candidate that wants to take semi-automatics out of our posession.

This is one of the biggest non-issues of the election. Congress would control this and there isn't any momentum for gun bans. I don't like the idea of banning semi-autos b/c my 16-gauge is semi-auto and I can't pump and aim fast enough to get the duck I'm gunning for. And the money I'm saving for a Colt 1911 would have to go to something else. However the NRA didn't want to ban non-citzens from owning guns so an "F" rating from them is a badge of honor IMO. An Al Qaeda member could buy a high-powered rifle in the USA with no problem.

A Democrat President + a Democrat Congress + a Democrat House = disaster for the gun owner. A non-issue? I hardly think so.

you realize that of the dozens of Democratic congressmen and senators there are a lot who are not in favor of major gun bans. You need a huge majority to ban guns and there isn't that majority. Even if the Dems win handily in November (which I hope they do) there still won't be a majority large enough to get too many gun-control laws passed.

Automatic weapons have been banned from importation or building since 1986, and to own one you must pay a $200 tax and give the right to the government to search your house at any time for illegal weapons.

I read what you posted, both want to ban semi-automatic guns. You know what that encompasses? EVERYTHING but a revolver handgun and single shot/pump shotgun or bolt action rifle.

My Glock, Colt Commander, and all my shotguns and rifles except one would be banned. Along with my AK and AR-15.

Out of my 25-30 guns I would have exactly 7 left that they would not want to ban or confiscate..............

Even if they wanted to ban semi-automatic weapons, it is NOT going to happen.

That will never happen in this country as much as politician wants it to.

Regardless, there are much more important issues that sway my vote towards Barack Obama aside from the 2nd amendment. Due to the fact that this issue is not a huge one, I'm not concerned that Obama or Clinton would ever ban semi-automatic weapons, ever.

I'm not for banning semi-automatic weapons, therefore if they want to do that, I do not agree with either on this topic. However like I said before, that's not big enough to make me switch my vote to John McCain.

Really? Than explain the last ban.
Automatic weapon.

Do I really need to define that for you?

automatic weapon

noun

a firearm that reloads itself and keeps firing until the trigger is released.

I say again, then explain the last ban . You know, the one under Clinton.

I think he's talking about semi-automatic firearms.

It wasn't a ban of semi-automatic weapons, was it?

I think you needed to define it for yourself. YOU CAN"T BUY ONE NOW WITHOUT A SPECIAL LICENSE THAT IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND VERY HARD TO COME BY.

Yes, it was. Not all, but many and most of them because they looked mean.
