Who do you pick to be the 12th region champs? I'm going take a gamble and pick Lincoln Co. I'm going to say that Southwestern is the Cinderella team in the 48th and pulls the first round upset on the home standing raiders.:sssh:

McCreary will come out of the 12th region this year. McCreary at home will have no competion in the 48th.

Wayne is playing pretty well right now. They beat Jackson Co. on the road tonight.

With the way Wayne is playing right now and McCreary carry the momentum from two quality wins (Cumberland & Somerset) it could be a Barn Burner for the 48th district championship. Barring any 1st round upsets.

Wayne is playing pretty well right now. They beat Jackson Co. on the road tonight.

 

Lincoln just beat them at Wayne a couple weeks ago. Plus they beat them by 39 earlier in the year. I think it is premature to call Wayne the favorite over Lincoln or McCreary.

The 12th will be hard to predict. Lincoln has a weak post game, McCreary needs a good 2nd option, Somerset needs some horses and consistency, Wayne has been quiet, Rockcastle needs some consistency....BAD :lol:

 

What I am trying to get at: If KSD won the 12th region, I would not be suprised.

The 12th is really wide open any team can win it but the two best teams are Lincoln and McCreary so I say on a neutral court McCreary will represent the 12th.

Let's break it down by districts first:

 

45th District

Lincoln County is the definite favorite and should win easily. Boyle/Garrard in the first round should be a good one. I'd pick Boyle, but neither team winning would be a surprise.

 

46th District

West Jessamine should take care of Burgin. Mercer County is more impressive than East, but it seems like Mercer's ready to wrap it all up. I think West wins this district over East Jessamine.

 

47th District

Can anyone name another district that all four teams can honestly win? This one sets up that way this year. Some are suggesting that Somerset will fall at home-standing Rockcastle County. I'm not prepared to say that, but it wouldn't be a shock. Casey County has beat Pulaski County twice this season, yet I'm picking the Maroons. Tell me this district isn't wild! Give me Somerset over Pulaski for the championship...I already hate this pick.

 

48th District

Undoubtedly Wayne County and McCreary Central should emerge from this district, but who as the winner and who as the runner-up? Wayne County really seems to be playing well right now. The tournament is at McCreary, so that offsets. I'll pick Wayne to pull an upset and beat the Raiders in the final.

 

12th Region

My predictions would have Lincoln, West, Somerset and Wayne as district winners, with Boyle, East, Pulaski and McCreary as runners-up. Lincoln County would be my favorite. But this region is wide open in the middle. Many of my predicted teams could be replaced by others and it wouldn't be a big surprise. Should make for a fun couple of weeks.
