What do you all think is an ideal batting average for a high school team?

Really depends on talent, depth and competition. Anything in the .350± range is excellent and playing competitive teams.

Just on an average high school baseball team. I know there are going to be those really good teams and some weaker, but I'm speaking on an average... I think for a high school team to hit over .300 as a team that would be outstanding, because your going to have guys that don't get that many at bats to bring the average down.

I say you are right. That would be about 5 runs a game and more if there are fielding mistakes.

Ryle hit .365 as a team last year, averaging 8.875 runs per game. So I would say that a team that hits .300 would win a bunch of games.

If you can't hit atleast .275, you better have good pitching, base stealing, and I would probably do some bunting.

Technically, but be a little realistic.

Owen Co. hit .305. Could have been a lot better. Team ERA was 2.45, which was decent. The 80 fielding errors cost us at least 6 games.

76 actually. Our Defense should be better this year. If we could cut that number in half we could win a lot more of the good pitched games.

.300 is a good average but in high school I think it should be around .350
