February 13, 200818 yr Obama (1038) now leads Clinton (950) in Delegates, is it over for Hillary now? Complete story With Obama finally passing Clinton is he now the presumptive nominee? What can Clinton do to get back in the race after loosing 8 straight primaries? Will Billary start slinging mud now? A lot of questions for the Clinton camp tonight.
February 13, 200818 yr Doesn't mean a darned thing until after CA, TX and Ohio. But people like voting for whoever is winning, and now that the major news program have said it's Obama, this will help him in those states. But those are the big ones. He just has a better chance there now.
February 13, 200818 yr Author Doesn't mean a darned thing until after CA, TX and Ohio. While I agree with you 100% on this point. But people like voting for whoever is winning, and now that the major news program have said it's Obama, this will help him in those states. But those are the big ones. He just has a better chance there now. I also think you have a great point, people do like a band wagon.
February 13, 200818 yr Doesn't mean a darned thing until after CA, TX and Ohio. California primary has already taken place. Clinton won 52% to 42%
February 13, 200818 yr Add PA to the list. It appears she must win Texas and Ohio by comfortable margins to have a chance. It appears Hillary is starting to be a sore loser: http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/02/12/clinton-still-no-congratulations-for-obama/
February 13, 200818 yr Author Saw Clinton on TV this morning, she said she would be in Texas for the next 3 weeks. I really hope the immigration things comes up big time. Because she needs to keep the Hispanic vote but can she do so without alienating the rest of the country at the same time?
February 13, 200818 yr Obama closed the gap on many of the exit poll demographics (white, hispanics and women). One analystic did some math & said that Clinton would have to average 56% in the remaining states. I think the deciding factor would be those superdelegates. The biggest problem I with that would be for the superdelegates to alienate the american people by choosing Clinton, if Obama were ahead (or vice versa).
February 13, 200818 yr I think the superdelegates aren't going to do that though. Obama has the momentum so I hope he can wrap this thing up.
February 13, 200818 yr I don't believe the superdelegates will want to chance splintering the party. I believe they will go with the candidate with the most delegates.
February 13, 200818 yr I agree. If Obama can keep it close in TX, OH & PA, he will be the nominee. He doesn't have to win those but he will have to keep it close which I think he will.
February 13, 200818 yr I found this to be interesting http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/178293.php
February 13, 200818 yr I found this to be interesting http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/178293.php I saw that segment on CNN. Howard Fineman said that Clinton hoped to keep the pledged delegates around 30 & then hoped the super's could pull it out for her. He said the range was from 30 to 200 but thought 30 probably wasn't realistic & it would more than likely be higher.
February 13, 200818 yr I don't see the supers voting for whoever is behind in the regular delegates. Wasn't that the reason Anakin Skywalker joined the dark side?
