Grant Co. Jr Visits Michigan

Featured Replies

I was looking at Jr's that visited Michigan and saw a kid named Josh Rump took a visit to the Oregon game. It wouldn't let me click on his name, so I couldn't get any stats. Does anyone know if he is being looked at by more D1 schools? Just thought that was kinda cool......good luck to him.

Don't know the young man but this is great to hear. Wish him the best!!

Josh Rump is an unbelieveable kid. He has lead the team in tackles in both his Sophomore and Junior seasons. Not to mention he ranks number 1 in his class academically with a 4.0 GPA. He plays the stack backer in the 3-3 and does a great job. He also has doubled as the Braves pulling guard for the past 2 years. He is 6'1 and 205, runs a 4.8 forty and he also is being looked at by other schools. The braves have a good junior class that has received a lot of attention. Joe Soden also was schedule to make a visit to the Michigan v. Notre Dame game but had something come up that kept him from going. These two and about 3 other are being looked at by several in state and out of state schools. Good luck to these young men in the coming year

Did this young man have an older brother that played football for the Braves?

Where does a 6'1 205 pounder with a 4.8 40 project at the D1 level as far as a position?

Any player getting D-1 looks in KY is great for the state.

Mike Davis is doing a great job with the Grant Co. program!! He will continue to improve and make them more and more competitive.

I would be surprised if a kid with that size and speed combination gets an offer from a D1 program.

However any time you can get some exposure and take a visit to a big time college program than I would encourage the young man to take advantage of it.

I would just hope he doesn't get his hopes up to high only to be let down on signing day of 2009. He definately needs to get faster to play at that level.

Punter or kicker..................:confused::confused:

The thing that would make him the most attractive to a any program is his 4.0 GPA. If you can get a player in with that kind of smarts then you might not have to use a scholarship on him because he would more than likely qualify for a full academic ride. Just a thought.

Josh Rump plays with a lot of heart and football smarts, wish him & the rest of the Braves nothing but the best of luck.

The 4.0 is only one component. The ACT is the other.

I can tell you that a top-notch student coming to UM is not automatically getting scholarship money. My neighbor scored in the 30s on his ACT and got a $10k scholarship. That sounds nice until you realize its about $40k to attend UM. Supply and demand is only UM's side.
