Big Upset!

Rockcastle made a layup as time expired.

 

I seen this coming. This is the worst McCreary has played in the last two seasons. It was embarassing standing there watching this. Watts had more turnovers than points or rebounds. He played only four minutes of the first half because he just wasn't in the game. McCreary was dead set on shooting threes and they just didn't fall. They didn't drive the basket, they didn't get to the free-throw line like they usually do, and they didn't shoot it with any consistency.

 

However, whenever Rock led 65-64, Watts made a runner with 5.9 seconds left that we thought had won the game... however, after several timeouts, Rockcastle made it down the floor and had a great screen by the center and an uncontested layup.

 

If McCreary doesn't fix their play, they won't do anything in the post season. This is about the fourth straight game that they haven't been themselves.

 

I do have to give it to Rockcastle for this win. They came back from ten down in the third. The Rockets couldn't miss a shot in the second half and McCreary didn't seem like they wanted to guard the three-point line. Maybe this loss will help McCreary in the long run.

Sort of sounds like how McCreary Central closed last season. No one needs reminded that Wayne County knocked McCreary out in the district last year. This year will be a much more winnable tournament game, but if McCreary doesn't right their ship, it could be an early out in the region.

 

Don't fret too much, though, SSF. The Raiders are still 20-3 and a coach that has a history of winning games in the regional tournament. There is still time.

Nice win by the Rockets. However, if I'm a McCreary fan I wouldn't read any more into this upset than I would over the Raider's win over Lincoln. Up until the game last week Lincoln is the only team in the 12th that had shown any seperation from the rest of the teams. The game against McCreary showed that the gap was not as large as it had appeared. The game tonight just shows that the 12th Region is completely wide open and any team that makes it to the Regional Tourney can get hot and win it.

Couldn't attend the game tonite, but heard that Watts had a poor game. I also heard that Swiger, Phillips, and Wright are sick. Is this true? Did they play?

What about the 12th? McCreary and Lincoln has one lose in the 12th, so does that mean anything now or is both teams going to still be in the FINALS? I like both to meet up again b/c I LOVE THE WATTS and KEETON kid... I think besides MS and LC the other teams are even. GOOD LUCK TOO ALL TEAMS IN THE 12TH B/C ANYONE CAN PULL THE UPSET...
