Mason Co vs Montgomery Co

Featured Replies

Actually, Mason County travels reasonably well; ask the folks that run the Sweet 16.:D

However, it is true that there will only be a few hundred for a regular-season game. Not the 2,500 or so that will be there from Mason County for a marquee regional tournament game.

I was basing this on what I saw earlier this year at Tates Creek's event and at Montgomery Co. for the prep classic. Not an over-abundance of blue shirts there.

It's yet to be seen if 2500 will be willing to make the trip down for a marquee regional tourney game. My bet is that many won't - claiming it's too far or the road is too bad or whatever.

I hope there are many Mason fans who are willing to come to this game tomorrow. The MCHS Arena feels empty unless there are over 2000 there. It sure was rocking for the Clark Co. game last week.

I hope so too; we plan to be there in any event. I would think that with our 250 and your 1,750 we should get to the "magic number".

Mason might have had 150 at the Prep Classic.

Maybe they should play this one in the Barn.

I think it will be much closer than some people think!

Mason County must go over to Mt. Sterling tonight and send a message or statement. If they let the Indians hang around then Montgomery gains the necessary confidence they will need once the regional tournament comes and they make their run. Mason County has to hone in on the focus from this point out in their schedule to bring their best game night in and night out and the rest should take care of itself.

Should be a close game. Montgomery needs to prove that they belong in the Top 25. Interested too see how the Indians will play at home against Mason. Wish I could make it!

Keep me posted please.:jump:

I'd say so too, being at MC, but I think the Royals will still find a way to win.

For Montgomery to win Stephens is going to have to step it up a notch, he could be the difference maker but not sure he has shown up since before Christmas. If Stephens scores 20+ Montgomery wins, if not Mason by 15!

If Stephens gets anywhere near 20 against a great defense then he has definitely gotten better at finishing around the basket than he has been through this season. I seen Montgomery 4 times this season, he has trouble finishing near the basket for his size. In my opinion, the Rash kid, Clark, and the point guard must have big games. Point guard must keep control of the dribble and offense. Stephens is a factor but if he doesn't finish any better than I have seen against quality opponents, then the others must definitely have big time games.

Rash is a great defender who will guard Miller. He needs to stay out of foul trouble in this one.

Got undercut in the Rowan County game; wasn't able to go the next night against Madison Central; hip or back was bothering him. I haven't heard if he will play tomorrow night or not.

Downing is a major cog in the Royal scheme with his aggressiveness, defense, passing, intelligent play and doing other positive things often unnoticed. In some ways I think he is the key to Royals success especially in close games. If downing doesnt play obviously others will have to step up, hamms, tolle and the freshmen. If Downing can go full speed, Royals by 10 or so; if he cant game is a tossup.
