Is that only for high school students at Mason County? If it is, then that is not right for the kids at the middle school and intermediate school!

 

Honestly, I don't know if the high school is the only school in the Mason County system that distributes blue and white cards for grades or not. I'm guessing it is; my wife is a teacher at the middle school and she says they don't have them there.

 

I agree that incentives would be nice for younger kids as well as high-schoolers, both as motivation for grades as well as making attendance more affordable for the entire family. The more affordably the games are, the greater the likelihood that kids' interest will be sparked. Maybe an issue for our local school board members?

Come to a Highlands football game, you wanna see fenced in babysitting. The way those kids go crazy, tackling each other, goofing off and not even paying attention to the game. Whew !!!! I get tired just trying to get to the concession stand fighting through ankle biters.

From a testing perspective, it is usually the high school grades that through a school system into a tail spin therefore, giving incentives to high school students (to attend HIGH SCHOOL GAMES) to make good grades is a GREAT idea.

 

And attendance issues in the high school are a much greater problem as the kids have the ability to leave school once they are actually there. Up to that point, the parents are held legally responsible for the students attendance but after the kid turns 16 its a whole different story.

I like the idea of having these incentives to make good grade, score well on state tests, and attend sporting events, it sounds like it works out well all around.

that is what it should be but the schools can't keep up with the costs if they charged that low of a price. Uniforms, equipment, and travel go up every year and the cost of admission has to follow that to keep the athletic funds from drying up.

I went to Perry the other day and it was $5 for everyone except just Perry students which was $2.

I don't know what it is now, but nearly every high school and college in the state of Virginia charges $0 for students. A few friends thought I was crazy when I asked them the admission price for the local high school basketball game. They didn't know because they never had to pay.

$5 for anyone but they do have season tickets, IDK how much they are because I don't have to pay

 

It is not always 5.00. For basketball it is 4.00 a game. If it is a double header (boys and girls) it is 5.00. For football it is 5.00. Why do you not pay?
