Rose Hill 40 Lou. Collegiate 37

112 teams started out on this journey, 8 remain. It wasn't pretty, but it's all about surviving and advancing. Should be a good game tomorrow. :thumb:

Did Euton have a horrible game? That's what I heard from friends at the game...

He hit the side of the backboard on a shot if that gives you any idea.

Congrats to the Hill good luck tomorrow night.:thumb:

Had Rose Hill losing on Lex tv tonight--Anyone else see that.

Yep, KHSAA scoreboard has them losing as well.:confused::confused:

Sounds like this one was a little ugly!

And that is being very, very kind. U G L Y.....UGLY game and it wasn't because of great "D" being played by either team. Quite a few of us who had been watching all the games in section 203 kept asking if just maybe the RH players were sick or something! Worst game of the day at least from a team that I thought would be good and was looking forward to watching. If you like to watch good high school basketball, this wasn't the game to watch.

Congrats to Rose Hill. It takes a good team to win ugly in these tournaments. Continue the good work!

Are we talking about Louisville Collegiate who is rated 2nd from the bottom in the 7th region? Congrats Rose Hill for advancing.

Congrats to Rose Hill! What happend to Euton, 6 points??

He only had six shots from the field. But he did have some pretty nice assists getting other players involved.

How did Euton only get off 5 or 6 shots? Was it good defense? A slow paced game where he didn't have many opportunities? Just how?

Pretty sure I read somewhere that they played a Box and one. Which meant Euton had the one on him all night. But at the same time that should have left Jackson open to do some damage.

Anyway, a win is a win at this point. Easy to be a judge, but just remember everyone is judging at Home, while RH is in Richmond still surviving.

Congrats to the Royals.:thumb:

I logged on this morning hoping to see where Wireman had posted a congratulations to Rose Hill. :D

True, but you have to admit, his prediction was a whole lot closer than everyone elses. He was the only one that game Louisville a chance, and they were close.

Just to put this in perspective… according to the All A website, from 1990 through 2007 18 teams from the 16th Region participated in the All A State Tournament. Of these, 15 lost their opening round game and went home. Twice Raceland made it past the first round before losing in the second round… still a noteworthy achievement for the 16th Region. In 2003, Rose Hill made it all the way to the Finals for the Championship.

Regardless of their record or ranking, Collegiate is a senior laden team out of the very competitive 7th Region. This was indeed a very ugly game, but a game Rose Hill found the right combination to win. Whether they win by 1 or 100, they are now one of only four 16th Region teams in 19 years to advance past the first round. Say what you will, that’s an accomplishment for our region. Regardless how they finish up, this is an invaluable experience for a very young team.

I like RH's attitude though... they packed their bags to stay for four nights.
