January 31, 200818 yr The UFC has strong ties to Xyience, as we all know. How strong those ties are is what makes it interesting, and some think Zuffa(owners of UFC) set out to cheat its fighters and others out of money. Long read but sheds some light on how big of crooks Zuffa is - http://www.unlimitedfightnews.com/xyiencewow.htm For those that did not know Zuffa is owned by the Fertitta family, whose father, Frank Fertitta Jr., is the person who the movie Casino was based on......in other words he had strong MOB ties..........................
January 31, 200818 yr The UFC may be in trouble but MMA isn't. On a side note, I've always found Xyience curious as it's twice the price of any other supplement and not nearly as good.

MMA as a whole would be better if UFC did get in trouble. Their tactics are very similar to boxings before the Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act passed by Congress.

You are listening to Mark Cuban too much. The UFC is good for MMA. They are doing their best to bring all of the best fighters to one organization. If the UFC weren't around, MMA would not be nearly as popular as it is today.

Been a fan of UFC since UFC1, even had tickets to go to UFC 3 in Charlotte, North Carolina but they would not allow under 18 in the building. My problem is they are going to have to cross-promote and do away with exclusive contracts, or you will not see all the best fighters fight. If they want to be taken serious as a sport, they have to start having a formula for contenders. I am a Chuck Liddell fan, but no way should Jardine have to re-match him, Chuck is 1-2 in his last 3, but because he is buddies with White, he gets Jardine and get a title shot if he wins.

Why shouldn't Chuck get a rematch with Jardine? The LHW division doesn't have a clear cut front-runner to get a title shot...Liddell and Jardine fighting for a title shot doesn't bother me. I doubt Keith Jardine minds much...he's one win away from a shot at the UFC LHW title...against a guy he already beat. Plus, I'd guess Jardine's payout will be a little better than 14K the second time around. I'd like to see Rampage fight Chuck again. I'd also like to see him fight Wanderlei and Shogun. I'm watching Thiago Silva...I think he's an elite fighter and he'll prove it as soon as Dana starts letting him fight some big names. He's rumored to be fighting Rashad Evans in May. An impressive win there should get him some better fights.
January 31, 200818 yr Author Why should he? He lost to Jardine, and was knocked out by Rampage....again. The LHW does have a clear cut #1, as Shogun was getting a title shot if he beat Forrest, he didn't so Forrest is #1. Jardine should be #2. Chuck should fight Lyoto Machida, but he will not cause Machida is a bad matchup for him.

So, should Jardine just sit back and not fight for a year waiting for Rampage and Forrest to fight and then take another 3 or 4 months minimum before they're ready to fight again...assuming everything went perfect, Jardine would be staring at 13 months between fights. That's ridiculous for a guy who is healthy and I seriously doubt he'd want to do that. I'd say Wanderlei Silva would have been fighting Jardine for the #1 contender slot had he won, so why shouldn't Chuck get it? That's the same logic you used for Forrest and Shogun. I'm not saying Chuck Liddell is the only option, but he's as deserving as anyone else, IMO, and he definitely brings more to the table when it comes to hype and money. He would destroy Machida. Liddell is nearing the end of his career. The UFC would be wise to try to place him in big fights to promote the sport more...getting him back in the title picture is a good move when there is no clear cut guy. He's as deserving as anyone else and maybe moreso if you look at his resume. Everybody loses some fights...Liddell got caught by a great fighter, he had an uninspired loss to Jardine and then bounced back and looked sharp against Silva. A rematch with Jardine just makes sense to me. I have no problem with it.

Chuck was one fight removed from being one of the most dominating LHWCs in history. I don't follow your logic that they would completely switch positions based on one fight. And I don't buy the "Liddell and Dana are best buddies" argument either. It's simple: more people will pay to watch Liddell fight than Jardine. Maybe if Jardine wins a few more and Liddell loses more, people will pay to see Jardine.
January 31, 200818 yr This seems to be a whole lot of nothing. And I guess Dana was right about the sponsors afterall since Harley-Davidson is the new sponsor.
January 31, 200818 yr This seems to be a whole lot of nothing. And I guess Dana was right about the sponsors afterall since Harley-Davidson is the new sponsor. :thumb: I don't figure this will amount to much, if anything. As of now, I think MMA needs UFC more than some want to admit, depending on what they want for MMA. The sport wouldn't come to an end if UFC suddenly went under. However, the UFC brand is the #1 reason that MMA is starting to garner much more mainstream attention, which means more money in the long run for fighters. Right now, with the acquisition of PRIDE, UFC has a large percentage of the top fighters in it's stable, which means it can deliver the fights people want to see...and the fights that the sport will needs if it wants to continue it's growth and it's invasion of the mainstream. If UFC goes under, suddenly you have a bunch of fighters scrambled all over the world again...the big fights become less likely and, unless some new organization, could secure nearly all of the UFC's fighters, it could be disastrous to public interest. If you suddenly have 10 different MMA organizations with Couture in one, Fedor in another, Liddell in another, Rampage, Anderson Silva, and on down the line...if all these guys were suddenly in separate organizations with no prospects of any of them fighting each other, the sport would take a huge hit. The flipside is this...perhaps, a guy like Mark Cuban, with all his money, could swoop in and sign the majority of UFC fighters and keep most of the marquee guys under one brand...in that case, it could turn out better. But, who knows if that would happen? As of now, I think MMA is better off with UFC operating as it is...it still has some work to do to get fully established in the mainstream.

To be recognized as a legit option to corrupt boxing, and a legit "sport" the UFC is going to have to have a ranking system. Plain and simple. This stuff about Chuck at the end of his career so he should get this fight or that fight isn't right. You beat people you move up, you lose you move down. On the subject I posted above. The UFC was using Xyience as a way tp pay fighters.......some of them are not getting payed. If they used Xyience as a way to show they have a $15 million sponsor to secure the loan they recetly got, they are on the verge of fraud.........
January 31, 200818 yr If they used Xyience as a way to show they have a $15 million sponsor to secure the loan they recetly got, they are on the verge of fraud......... I'm sure their lawyers are keeping them legit...I would think they (lawyers) and their creditors (banks) probably understand the deal a little more than a goofy writer with an agenda,
