UFC could be in trouble.

I dont really pay much attention to UFC or MMA or anything, but I heard today on the Stretch show that Brock Lesnar was going to have his first match in UFC this weekend. What are his chances?

Pretty good. He's fighting a former UFC Heavyweight Champion who lost the belt because he had a motor cycle accident that kept him from fighting for like 2 or 3 years. Frank Mir is a submission specialist. He's VERY good on the ground, and that is where Lesnar likes to take it. I won't be surprised to see it go either way, but I just don't see Mir submitting Lesnar, because he's so big and strong. It is hard to submit someone that big. I see Lesnar holding Mir down, and using ground and pound to win the fight.

Looks like I was wrong. Mir submitted Lesnar in round 1. I knew Mir was good on the ground, but I thought Lesnar would be too strong. Good fight for Mir. Lesnar is now 1-1.

Lesnar came out very active throwing and connecting on punches while on the ground. My first thought that he would tire himself out and even though I know he was a great collegiate wrestler, I was curious to see how he would do on the ground. Sure enough, he gets put away early and submits. Thankfully I wasn't the one spending 45 dollars to watch that.

I saw it at Hooters. Spent 22 instead on Beer and wings!

Lesnar looked impressive until he got caught in the knee bar. Had a lot to do with Mir being so good in BJJ and Lesnar still wet behind the ears in MMA. Even in the loss I think Lesnar will be one of the better heavyweights in the UFC.

Lesnar has a great base for MMA in wrestling. He'll be fine, but asking for Mir in his first fight was not smart. Mir is very good at BJJ.

Brock didnt do himself any favors by just standing right on top of Mir like that not really doing much of nothing. He should have either stay on the ground where he was smothering Mir or just let him stand back up. I think the only way for Frank to win was exactly how he did by attacking Lesnar's legs. Like Mir said after the fight, Brocks arms are just so massive that I dont think he could have gotten any type of arm bar or choke. You could see in the replay that Mir was just inching over towards the leg while he was on his back and Lesnar had no idea what he was about to do until it was to late.

Brock and Silvia both looked great until being caught in subs. I would like to see those to go at it.

I think Lesnar could whip Sylvia IF he could get it to the ground. It is very hard to get Sylvia on the ground.

Big Nog is an amazing fighter...he reminds me of Royce Gracie. He doesn't mind taking damage. He just wants to get you on the ground and then he knows he can catch you in a submission. How many fights has he been in where he is getting dominated and then he pulls out the win? It's happened way too much to be a fluke.
