Pineville 54 Cumberland 52, 13th All A

For one, I have not seen one person on here complain about Pineville's state ranking. They haven't played a schedule to become ranked statewide. I, however, did complain about the 13th region ranking. They were 5th or 6th, with a 19-2 record and undefeated in the region. That is crap! Where they finish statewide is totally dependent upon how they finish the regular season and then how they perform in the region tournament and possibly the state tournament.

At Pineville it is really hard to see in advance how good a class is going to be. You won't know until they are freshman or sophomores because of they lose a lot of kids to the county and the improvement from their freshman year on. I do admit that most kids leave for football but Robert Warren was a basketball player that started out at Pineville and bounced around a couple of times before staying at Bell for high school until the recent move to Hazard. Pineville has Dustin Warren(who lives a block from Pineville Schools), Lambdin, Fuson, and Day transfer from a county school. Note: this is considering players that start or play a significant amount of time because I am not sure where the younger kids come from. Warren and Fuson was the only players that transfered after elementary school. So most of the Pineville boys have been there for awhile but I would definitely argue that noone knew they had this much potential til around their 8th grade or freshman years. Jared Jefferey and Will Lambdin alone have improved leaps and bounds over the last 2 or 3 seasons. I am sure I am missing other people when I say they have improved tremendously.

Pineville boosters does a great job of reeling in money for programs. Its more the fact that noone wants to drive 45 minutes off the interstate to play in a gym that seats roughly 600 people. Then you have to look at how many home games Pineville has played this year. A grand total of 6! What do you want them to do? Just forget playing at home?

Warren is originally from Arjay, and he went to Arjay, Lone Jack, and Yellow Creek before ending up at Pineville. No doubt he is a county product. All of the major contributors are from the county except for Jeffrey if I understand it right. That would include Strange who you could really say is from Allen Co.

Has Pineville EVER considered building a new gym. How old is that thing? It is in good shape for its age I'm sure, but its not the best gym to watch a game in.

Old School Dr. you had me convinced Cumberland was going to be in the hunt for the All A State Title.

bell40, do the students in Bell County's 3 school systems (Bell, Middlesboro, and Pineville) have the option of going to any school of their choosing, or are there rules and regulations related to where they attend? Just wondering.

They can go anywhere they want as far as I know. Bell Co. I know has open enrollment. You only have to pay if you are from out of state. If I am not mistaken Pineville makes you pay if you live outside the city limits. Not sure on Middlesboro, but who would want to go there anyway.
