I may be dumb, but IMO (potential wise talent at LC) Day and Strange are the only two on the Mt. Lions better than Lynn Camp's top 5. Now do they always play to their potential NO! In no way was I knocking Pineville. Coach Strange gets alot out of what he has to work with, hope they win the All A.

 

HA! That is funny. Dustin Warren could out shoot Lynn Camp's entire team. Jared Jeffery sees the court like no other player I have watched in high school. He could find the open man in the pitch dark. Ontop of that, Pineville's bench is underated. I am not taking anything away from Lynn Camp or anything, I just think Pineville has more heart/motivation, better coaching, and maybe a little bit more talent. Just a little bit though. lol

I saw the refs take Day out with the blood situation. You probably need to be at the game.

 

Like HDE said, I had coaching responsibilities that night and couldn't make the trip to Lynn Camp. I guess when you have seen more 13th region games than anyone other than HDE, you can tell people like me I "probably need to be at the game." :thumb:

 

I'm not making excuses for the Redskins. I knew it was going to take an extraordinary effort to beat Pineville. I was stating the information that I received from a person who attended the game.

 

As far as Cumberland being overrated goes, I think we'll have to wait and see. From what I have seen, read, and heard, Cumberland's offensive firepower is lacking, but their defensive effort is still there. The aspect of the team I question the most is the freedom of PG Leisge. He is a solid guard, but he has no explosiveness, and furthermore, no left hand. He can knock down open shots, but can't create his own shot. The Redskins offense is certainly suspect, and I think they are going to have to start putting more points on the board if they're going to win the region. The potential is there, however.

Not questioning anything the coach is doing or not doing, but in my opinion Johnson (Cumberland) needs to play inside more instead of out on the floor a lot. With his size and athletic ablility he could be a force down there, but for whatever reason he plays mostly out on the floor.

Didn't know that you had said it lungbuster, but if you have then you are right. Johnson is an outstanding talent, probably the best talent in the region as far as the next level goes. Although he may play out on the floor in college, if Cumberland wants to have a chance to win the region then he needs to be playing closer to the basket.

Jeffery may out hit them, but I doubt he could come close to out shooting them. Pineville has one of the top coaches IMO in the state, so I agree with you there, heart/motivation maybe, talent, other than the big two NO!

Could you imagine how good Cumberland would be if they left Johnson and Wilson on the blocks? I've seen them play several times and even Wilson will come out on the floor and shoot 3's. Keeping them two under the basket would open things up for the guards to get open shots and that would make them dangerous during tournament time.

How many shots did the guards get wide open against Pineville? The times I have seen him down there, the guards don't get him the ball.

He looks to be the only one who can throw it inside. Their turnovers and missed shots are not a result of him being outside

What exactly is it you question about the freedom of Leisge? Are you saying that he has too much freedom or not enough freedom? I really dont understand you, it appears as though you are taking shots at him and that is unfortunate considering what he has meant to this program the last 4 years.

If you seen them, then you know that they don't shoot the ball well. And maybe he is not your typical big man.
