I am hearing the same thing. Some high-level pow wows taking place at LC. This one is not over.

 

 

I've always tried to avoid predicting in these things. Do you think it could be that French would not mind coming to Boyle but also saw this as a possibility to leverage Lincoln into changes that would lead him to stay and get what he needs?

 

I'm not upset if French was doing that, particularly if it works for him and the Lincoln program. Please understand I'm not talking about French doing some with no intention of going to Boyle but maybe the best case scenario for him was to be willing to go and then got what he wanted in the first place from Lincoln.

If Coach French does Leave... IMO He made the Lincoln Co. job more attractive...I believe they will find someone that will keep the program moving forward...:thumb:

I know you didn't ask me but if I was Lincoln I would go after the coach that I want Boyle to go after if French stays in Stanford. That's the coach who shall not be named but resides very North of here, almost in a Yankee state. :sssh:

He is talking about David Buchannon from Mason County. I think David is very happy where he is. He has personal ties to Boyle County that possibly make that an attractive position for him. He has no such ties to Lincoln County. If Lincoln County is looking for a coach tomorrow, I don't think Coach B will be very receptive. Just my opinion.

 

Let's see what tomorrow brings.

Lets hope by some miracle coach French changes his mind. I dont think so, but I guess we will find out tomorrow.

Would Coach Jaggers be interesting of coming back to LC and would the fans of LC want him as their Head Coach?

Jaggers has a nice set up at Mercer, i don't see that happening.

From my understanding, Marty Jaggers was interested and applied for the Lincoln job the previous two times it was open but was never granted an interview. I think part of that had to do with a certain administrator or two at LCHS whom aren't there anymore, either. My guess would be that will probably be staying put at Mercer for 2008. He can retire after next year and not to mention the fact that Mercer County has practically everyone returning next year...32 to be seniors..including 18 of 22 starters from a team that had 5 of their 6 losses come down to the final seconds/minute(s).

Personally I wouldn't mind seeing Jaggers as LC's coach, he did a great job here last time. I think he is happy at Mercer though.

Good luck to Coach French. Lincoln's loss is Boyle's gain. He brought maturity, integrity and character to the Lincoln County program when it was needed. He put the kids first and he resurrected a football program.

 

Hopefully, Lincoln County can find a replacement that can keep the train rolling.

It will be very hard to replace Coach French or any coach that

puts the time in that coaches have to do today. I think things

have to change within the program like in school conditioning,

but hiring the right fit will be tough. Why not go back through

the season and look at programs that we faced and see if there

are coaches out there that competed very tough like French

coached teams. I have to tell you I was at the scrimmage with

Green County and I was suprised by what I saw out of the school,

not only the size of the AA but the level in which they competed or

out competed our team. There were others but it seems to me

that coaches in schools that size might be looking for a bigger school.
