Sounds as if this is going to be a barn burner for sure. Good Luck to both teams. I hope that the Raiders can get the W this time around. I will be listening via the web. Heres to what makes high school basketball what it is in Kentucky. Have fun and keep it all in perspective.......

I'm saying it how everyone else would say it if it was a 5-7 point game and then Lincoln wins by 10-12 because they made their free-throws the last :45 seconds of the game. McCreary won the game against Scott by 24 points, but that was a 35-point game from the begining. Scott was able to make up points in the final few minutes after the subs entered for McCreary. I think that quote is easy to take out of context.

Making an excuse? No. McCreary will win this game.

If that's what you meant I can buy that, it just made it sound that no matter how the game turned out you were going to say that Lincoln isn't better even if they win convincingly. Do you think McCreary can stop Lincoln or will they have to win a shootout/ I know that the Raiders had a bad shooting night against SW but how do you account for giving up 19 points to a pair of 8th graders and a freshman?

What is the capacity at McCreary Central's gym?

Can't give you an exact capacity, but it's a good size place. Very comparable to Garrard County and Lincoln County.

That's like saying, "how did you give 42 points up to Watts as an 8th grader?" I know Watts is at a different level. McCreary had a bad game all around. Their pressure defense can stiffle opponents. In honesty, I think they score 19 by luck. McCreary can shut down teams, but they also have to outscore them - which they can do very well. I think this will be a lower scoring game 60-70s, but McCreary's ability to stop the outside shot on most nights will help them a lot. Everyone that plays for McCreary and make the three, and all of the starters are high percentage from that range. If they can hit their shots, which I think they will, they can win. However, I agree with most people - it will be a barn burner.

Swiger

Watts

Musgrove

Roark

Phillips

They will get good ball movement and find the open three. If that's not available, look for Roark, Phillips or Watts to drive deep into the paint. Although Musgrove is small, he is a rebounding machine - as is the taller Phillips. I know Lincoln County isn't 15-18 points better on a neutral site. McCreary has had a couple of bad games this year - @ West Jessamine and Southwestern. The Raiders can shoot the lights out. If Watts gets a fingers reach on his defender, he will pop the three in their eye. McCreary had 11 three pointers in their win at Scott County.

This does not say Scott County Tenn.:thumb:

Guys I can't wait all the talk is over now lets see who gets top billing in the region this week. Good luck to both teams. Go Pats.

Looks like Southernsportsfan knew what he was talking about. Also looks like there are about seven teams with legit shots at winning this region. Lincoln being taken to OT by Boyle and beat by McCreary has brought them back to the pack. Lincoln may still be the best but I think any of the top seven teams could beat each other on a given night.
