So losing Brohm makes UL's offense better?

No...having a quaterback who's played in big games and practiced for 3 years with his teammates as QB makes it better.

You know what i was wondering the same thing? Please tell me how they will get better?

I believe that UL's offense will be better than UK's offense in the first game. I believe that's what everyone is trying to say.

So your saying that this back up qb in his first full year is going to be better then Brohm was last year?

What about Matt Flynn out of LSU. He was there for 4 years. He didnt turn out to be great not evn that good. Yeah they won the BCS but thats because of the TEAM he had around him and great deffense.

Look, I absolutely have as much confidence in Cantwell and company as I had in Brohm and company. I have questions about the defense, but feel there is no where but up to go from last year.

Is it so unthinkable that UL fans could have as much confidence in their team as UK fans have in theirs? Offensively, I think the bigger question marks are on the UK side. Defensively, the bigger question marks are on the UL side.

Why do you have to be so derisive?

I am not a UK fan. I don't like UK at all. I wanted UL to win last year. I just want to kmow how you UL fans possibly think UL will be better this year. It doesn't make any sense to me. Loosing so much and everything. The recruiting class's are not very good. I just don't understand how they will be better.

So, who are you a fan of???

Notre Dame. I graduated from there. Life long fan.

Does it matter?

Nope. I was just curious...

Cool...

I disagree that the recruiting classes are not very good. I feel that we've actually gotten some VERY good players in recent years, and that they'll make their mark starting next year. I mentioned Doug Beaumont and Vic Anderson earlier. Those are two. We have some JUCO transfers that will shore up some spots this year as well. The offensive side of the ball is NOT where I would place any concern. I think you'll find that most UL fans are quite happy that he's the next in line after Brohm. You may actually find many UL AND UK fans who think he's better than Brohm. The defense is where I see the biggest questions, as I mentioned earlier. But, unlike a lot of UL fans, I actually have confidence that Coach Kragthorpe is putting all the pieces together in this off-season, and there will be significant improvement in the next season.

I'm not a fan at all of how heavily they went the JUCO route. Quick fixes like that don't often pan out in a BCS conference...

I don't think we really had any choice this year. We lost 3 starting players to career ending injuries. That isn't easily replaced by a redshirt freshman, for instance. Especially on the defensive side.

I don't look for it to be the trend by Kragthorpe, but between defections, graduation and career-ending injuries and early departure for the NFL, I think UL sustained a greater than normal hit to the depth chart this year.
